Today is the 19th day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

The past few days' calm has given way to a storm.

Sometime in the dead of night, the poor baking princess was carried off by a dastardly and brutish beast! Whether to be eaten, ransomed or merely admired as a piece of treasure, no one is quite sure, though at least one shopkeep was heard muttering about the consequences of princesses wandering off alone. No one can deny that it's all fantastically exciting, and most are eagerly waiting to see how this tale will unfold. Will the battle mage save the princess from the clutches of the dragon sisters? Will they both be burnt to a crisp? Will the cynical prince find either (or both) of the white mages? Will the mysterious white forest continue to grow? Is it sabotage that's ruining Mary's lettuce patch, or rabbits?

And of course, most importantly, will one of the daring rescuers win the heart of the fair princess?

The weather is due to be perfect for questing, whatever that means.

Today is the 17th day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

More disappearances are the whisper of town today! It would seem that the Baking Princess has gone missing! Of course that's all that can be agreed upon, as the rest of the rumors range from the Princess being kidnapped in the middle of the night to him having wandered off in the middle of a loaf at the call of the birds. Others say that it's just too hot to be baking and he likely just went off to find some shade and what's all this squawking about anyway, really.

But isn't it just awful? First the little White Mage falling under a magical sleep, then the heroes disappearing... aaa, what's to become of the Kingdom, if there's no one to defend them? They might have to actually do something themselves!

...or look into some other ways to summon heroes. That's a much better idea.

Today is the 16th day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

More titters about the mysterious disappearances in the monastery echo through the town today. Sadly, it's too hot for anyone to go see if any of them are true, not that anyone would bother with that to start with, but some say it wasn't just Tom who left, but half the monks as well! And the little White Mage was taken with them! Rumors are varied if the boy was awake or not, and in the end, does it really matter? After all, there was that hero White Mage as well who'd been taking care of--

...oh, he's gone missing too? Or is it that he's just refusing to see and heal people? Either way, quite a scandal, don't you think?

Today is the 15th day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

Even in the quiet of Great Height, there are still rumors. Lazier ones that take a longer time to spread, much like the regrowth of the White Forest, which is looking quite lovely towards the center now. Such find birch trees, quite splendid! ...where was I. Oh right! Rumors!

The latest whispers say that there's been a sudden vacancy in the monastery. Tom, the monk who always watched over Kori and kept him in line has gone, with the abbot's leave. Something about a mission of great importance. To go traveling in the Great Heat, it certainly must be! Though it does seem odd that the man would leave the poor comatose little White Mage behind...

The calm feel continues, the unpleasantly warm days of Great Heat driving people inside to seek the shade. There's been chatter about the heroes poking around the regrowing White Forest but the heat has kept them from approprately stalking-- I mean, following the heroes actions. Far easier to just make up stories, don't you think?

The weather forecast for the next few days continues to predict dry heat, clear skies and an atrocious lack of shade.

Today is the 11th day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

The kingdom has been eerily calm the past few days. The White Forest continues to repair itself, obscuring the white tower in its center. The King's audiences have resumed as they were before, the streak of seriousness that had plagued him no longer anywhere to be seen. Even the New Moon past by without a peep from the forest... very strange. Perhaps the balance of the world is righting itself again? Or maybe just the heat of the day is making everything lathargic. There haven't been any new reports from the Thorns either. Very strange. But not anything bad!

Today is the 8th day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

The growth of the White Forest continues, the birch trees creeping ever steadily outwards from the center. Maybe some mage from the other side of it got tired of the charred twigs and decided to restore it? Well, whatever the reason, it's a nice change!

Speaking of nice changes, the weather has decided to behave today! Sunny, warm, clear blue skies...! Perfect weather for a romp in the fields, eh? Eligible heroes may find themselves being accosted by young maidens [and strapping young lads, depending] seeking their romantic attentions for a walk in the fields. Aaa, youth~

Today is the 7th day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

The weather is expected to be an annoying mix of warm, humid and overcast. Most people are staying inside until it clears up.

Rumors are a bit scarce today, but there seems to be something going on in the formerly White Forest. Patches of it seem to be regrowing... Nothing near the edges, of course, but towards the center, the thin tall birch trees are reappearing, spiraling out from the center of the forest....

Today is the 6th day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

The weather is expected to be hot, muggy and overcast. Bah! At least it's not going to rain, right?

...oh wait, it is? Well. Guess that's to be expected. Great Heat and all.

Might be time for the annual migration to port town. Weather's always nicer by the sea side! And the capital's gotten awful quiet lately. All those heroes whisked away to the corners of the map..it's almost as if someone wanted them to else where! As if there were Great Deeds to be done outside of the Capital!

...oh wait, there are? Well that's not especially ideal now isn't it. How on Earth are the heroes to be followed on their Great Deeds if the Deeds don't happen in the capital? Bah.

Today is the 5th day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

Despite the clockmaker's assurance that nothing's wrong with the clock, the town is still grumbling about something being wrong with time. General unrest is rising, especially with the disappearance of more heroes. Thankfully some have been located, though how one wound up in the mountains and one in the Old Capital has caused no end of speculation!

Speaking of the old capital, rumor has that the heroes are looking to set up a headquarters there too! Whispers of what may have caused the heroes to want to flee the capital are wide and as varied as the people sharing them, though the quietest whispers are that they must have found out about horrible secret of the Totentanz mansion and are fleeing it.

Whatever the case may be, the heroes may find the towns people either shunning them inexplicably, or begging them not to abandon them in their time of need.

Today is the 4th day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

There's a strange feeling like something's just not quite right. The clock maker has been called to check up on the large clock in the middle of the town as locals are pausing to frown at it more and more. Seems fast somehow. Rather distressing really! You get caught up in a good gossip about that tea party and the strange effects that seem to have come from it and then the next you know it's the evening and you've lost half the day!

...maybe instead of tea parties, the heroes should be looking into that? Yes, that seems like a proper idea! And maybe they can get through to the King too!

Today is the 3rd day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

All the town is still a'buzz at the Knight's Tea Party. And not only because of the lavish display everyone so quickly managed to put together! There was something truly magical about the whole party and it's lovely refreshments that were simply, and quite literately enchanting!

Though the source of the most gossip was the strange appearance near the end of the party of a giant footed snake! Some say it even had horns just like that horrible demon of the Cursed Shack, leading to much speculation about it being the familiar of said horrible demon. It certainly had a touch to match the foul creature!

Much more hushed rumors speak of a Prince who did not believe that the King existed! Simply scandalous! Perhaps it is because the Heroes do not believe in him that the King has gone into hiding once more? Really, it's such a dreadful situation!

The weather is expected to be... hold on, that can't be right. Hot, sunny, yet cloudy and raining, windy, yet still and cool? Clearly someone's been tampering with the poor forecaster's crystal ball!

Today is the 2nd day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

Strange how the days feel shorter in Great Heat... well, that's only true because some people like to sleep the days away. Too hot to bother with anything, really. That's why the King's audiences are closed again.

...wait, what? No, that isn't right. They were open all last year, regardless of Heat or Cold... This is truly getting strange! Heroes, won't you go find out the source of the King's melancholy? ...what's that look for? Don't you love the King? .... well, I never!

The weather is expected to continue be hot and dry. If this keeps up, there may be need for tenting again. Wouldn't do any good to let the crops wither, after all! Especially when the old White Mage is gone and the young one's sleep asleep... or out of reach, whichever the case may be. Monks have been acting a might strange since the fire in the White Forest, after all...

Today is the 1st day of the The Height of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

Rumors are flying left and right today, though really, that's no different than normal! But the hushed whispers of a figure cloaked all in white (or was it black? or maybe grey... well. Cloaked in something!) lurking out in the fields just outside the town. Rumors conflict, but one thing is for sure is that the figure seemed to be talking to someone... maybe quite a few someones, since it seemed that there were quite a few voices coming from that field, as well as some frankly distressing laughter...

Speaking of distressing, it would appear that the Cursed Princess ran into quite some trouble while going on a tour of the thorns that threaten the kingdom. It took anywhere from three to an entire company of soldiers (depending on who you spoke to) to rescue the delicate maiden from the thorns vicious grasp! The poor Princes was in quite a poor mood after, no doubt troubled by the possible harm her guard could have come too!

The weather is expected to be hot and dry, with a sudden freak rainstorm in the middle of the day. Possibly with thunder, since it is the height of Great Heat after all.

Today is the 20th day of the The Beginning of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

Well, despite the sleeping White Mage being hidden away, his spell continues to work, bringing in two new heroes! A pair of knights, no less! One, a charming polite girl and the other, a poor boy under a curse. Or perhaps maybe he's one of those sorts from across the sea? Or the result of a forbidden romance between--

Well, whichever the case, he is a strange one to behold! And with as many Knights as there are Princesses, it should be time for a dance so that each Princess can choose a Knight to be their own~ For that is the proper way of these things, right?

Today is the 19th day of the The Beginning of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

Almost the Height of the Great Heat and boy is it starting to show! The air is warm, the birds are singing, the bars are brawling... aah, the signs of the warmest days when the sun graces the Kingdom with it's greatest heat...

...oh, the bar fight? Oh yes, while hardly the first of the season (the season really had started back at the beginning of Great Heat, after all!) this was the first where a hero had joined in the tradition! And given the first blow! So nice to see the heroes getting in on local tradition~ Though the appearance of a random monster in the bar had thrown the whole thing into chaos. But thankfully the hero White Mage had been on hand to take care of the major injuries. And the minor ones. And the hangnails.

Speaking of White Mages, the monks have starting barring people from going to check up on the King's young White Mage and won't even tell anyone if he's awake or not. Rumor has that the King himself had wanted to see how the boy was doing but something had happened (what, no one could really be sure, all the rumors were conflicting, even more than normal) and he had been turned away. Quite scandalous!

The weather is expected to continue to get warmer. No clouds, no rain, just sweet sweet sunshine.

Today is the 18th day of the The Beginning of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

The King has returned! Looks like he was just avoiding the Giants after all! And here you all were worried it was something serious!

Regular audiences will be held as normal, though may be a bit shorter, as there's all this kingly stuff and nonsense that has piled up in his absence. What any of it is is anyone's guess, but with the King back on his throne, all is right in the Kingdom! Right? Of course right!

Well. Besides that giant wolves thing. And that other wolf but the little one was hardly any concern. Really, he was better behaved than most children!

Now if only the young White Mage would wake up, everything would be back to normal..

The weather is forecasted to be sunny and warm, with the occasional cold wind coming from... somewhere. Look, the crystal ball isn't so good with showing these things, you can't expect detail from these sorts of things!

Today is the 17th day of the The Beginning of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

Giant wolves running around the city, strange goings on in the Demon Shack... while it was good that the heroes went off to try and restore the mythic sword of Rubilacxe, some folks are wondering if maybe some of them should have been asked to stay behind...

There's a general feeling of unease growing that only grows worse the longer the King's absence grows, which is helped by the growing talk of nightmares and abrupt waking from sleep that the townspeople are experiencing. It seems like the poor enchanted little White Mage is the only one getting any proper sleep now a days...!

But at least the Giant's Kingdom has moved on (finally!) and the clouds have cleared up! Maybe the sun will chase away the monsters and nightmares lurking and allow the towns people to start working on who to send to the poor Baking Princess to cheer him up after the loss of his bride. After all, every tragedy was also an opportunity, right? ...what? It's a full moon in Great Heat, someone ought to be making use of it!

Today is the 16th day of the The Beginning of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.

Worried whispers are growing in the kingdom. The young White Mage still asleep, the King still missing, and now rumors are surfacing that something terrible has befallen the hero White Mage...! Dreadful, perfectly dreadful, now who will tend to the aches and pains of the kingdom...?

But all is not lost! Latest among rumors are that as foretold when the Kingdom was in deepest peril, the mythic sword of Rubilacxe has once again appeared in the Old Capital! Embedded deeply in a large stone set in the middle of the fountain in the town square, the mythical sword waits for the bravest of heroes to pull it free!

...how this will help is anyone's guess, but it's a sign and signs must be tended to!

Won't you go try your luck, o great hero? Not like you're doing anything here anyway, really. Whole kingdom's falling apart and here you are just trying to get your bearings in a strange new world that you didn't ask to come to. Some people, really! Look, if you leave now on horseback, you'll be there in back in time for the full moon and there'll be good reason for throwing that dance that the whole town agrees should be happening anyway.
