Day Change: the 16th of Great Heat's Beginning
Today is the 16th day of the The Beginning of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.
Worried whispers are growing in the kingdom. The young White Mage still asleep, the King still missing, and now rumors are surfacing that something terrible has befallen the hero White Mage...! Dreadful, perfectly dreadful, now who will tend to the aches and pains of the kingdom...?
But all is not lost! Latest among rumors are that as foretold when the Kingdom was in deepest peril, the mythic sword of Rubilacxe has once again appeared in the Old Capital! Embedded deeply in a large stone set in the middle of the fountain in the town square, the mythical sword waits for the bravest of heroes to pull it free!
...how this will help is anyone's guess, but it's a sign and signs must be tended to!
Won't you go try your luck, o great hero? Not like you're doing anything here anyway, really. Whole kingdom's falling apart and here you are just trying to get your bearings in a strange new world that you didn't ask to come to. Some people, really! Look, if you leave now on horseback, you'll be there in back in time for the full moon and there'll be good reason for throwing that dance that the whole town agrees should be happening anyway.
