Hey everyone! I talked with the King about having a place of our own that's not at the castle, where we can keep our own records and maps and things like that and he's giving us a mansion! It's that big one, not too far from the East Bridge, right on the water, the one that looks a little run down? He said it's been abandoned for a while so it needs a bit of work to fix it up, but that shouldn't be too hard to find people to help with that, right?

Who wants to come check it out with me?

Um, I wouldn't mind? I mean, it'd be nice to have someplace better to sleep, and I think I'd be able to help clean...?

[[a blink]] Someplace better? Where are you staying now? [[very curious]]

Aha, well... I, um, don't like castles, so I was staying at the inn, but my, um, ideas for making money kind of fell through, and... some other things happened, so I... thought I would try camping so I wouldn't bother anyone! Yes. Um. And it's okay, I guess, except sometimes it rains and there are animals and it would be nice to have somewhere else to sleep then.

Aaa, that's no good! Then you really should come stay at Headquarters! [[yes, he's already calling it that]] And any help cleaning would be a big help, since I'm sure there'll be a lot of it!

Why has it been abandoned?

[The city is a busy one and abandoned buildings are few and far between. It's the logical question to ask, to her mind.]

He didn't say... Sometimes families die out or they move and don't bother selling a manor or the person in inheriting it doesn't want anything to do with it so just abandons it. Especially with larger places it's a pretty common thing. Or it might have even just been people leaving because of the Thorns, back home in the City there were large areas that were abandoned after things like the Godzilla attack and then the zombies.

[Well, if Bakura doesn't find it odd she'll trust him. He's been here longer than she has.]

How long do you think it's been sitting empty? And how much work do you think it needs to be "fixed up"?

[Her reaction is going to be different depending on whether they're just talking about cleaning the place up or whether there are actual repairs involved. Anyone can clean. He doesn't need her for that.]

It sounds comfortable for meetings, and a big place is perfect to use as a reference point for newcomers...

I'm terrible for decorating, but I can help clean up if you need an additional pair of hands.

That'd be a great help since I'm sure there'll be lots of it to clean! And I wouldn't worry about decorating or anything like that, I'm sure once we get enough things mapped out we can have copies of the maps be the decorations~

People will come in and think we are a bunch of workaholics.

[With Stephane being a workaholic himself, this is said without any kind of bad meaning xD]

It will give a good impression, at least.

Awesome! Do you think you could find some cleaning supplies to bring along? Like a broom or a mop and bucket or something like that? I'm sure it'll be pretty dusty!

Shouldn't be too hard. They have to have a broom closet around here somewhere. I'll bring whatever I can carry, deal?

[Their own place, huh? It remains Ginia of the Welcome Center back in Luceti and she smiles a little nostalgically. It's a good idea having a central hub.]

It sounds like a great idea. I think I can put in a bit of time to help later.

Great! If you can, bring a broom or a mop and bucket or something okay? Any cleaning supplies you can get from town will be a big help!

I was in another world where we had a similar sort of central hub. Perhaps we can get a book and write down what we know or what we've experienced so people that come later and read it and be caught up.

From the Natives, un. [[nods]] I'll need a new lock put in, I think, once it's all fixed up to make sure, but that shouldn't too much trouble!

I find it honestly surprising that he was willing to talk at all. And I certainly find it surprising that he'd simply giving us a mansion. Who exactly is he giving it to, anyway?

...if I get my own space, I'd be willing to help. Can't be worse than being ignored or mislead every time I ask a question.

I think to all of us as a group. I told him that we needed a place to be organized and to work together like a proper group of heroes... [[a bit of an impish grin there]]

Really, he's not too hard to talk to if you know how to talk to that sort of type. It's sort of like talking in buzzwords! Only for RPG things. You just have to make it sound like him giving you what you want will help in the main quest.

I hate surprise 12-hour shifts. =/

Yup! It's pretty big, have you see it? It's not too far from the castle, on the other side of the road.
