Orb, Day 2 of the Great Heat's Beginning
[Kay looks tired. His injuries haven't fully healed yet -- there are some bandages visible above the neckline of the tunic he's wearing. It looks like he's done his best to hide them, but not quite succeeded.]
So, uh...I've got this horse, and...does anybody want it? I mean, I'm not going to do anything with it. I can't freaking ride a horse. So it might as well go to someone who can, right?
I can get around just fine without it, and I don't have a clue how to take care of the damn thing. Someone take it off my hands already. Same with this sword thing.
[He holds it up, turning it back and forth in the light, looking at it.]
I don't need it. I don't even know if it's any good. But if I keep it, it's not gonna kill anything but dust bunnies, because it's not coming out from under the bed, you know what I mean?
Any takers? I'll trade you something for them.

[The best thing about living in the castle? It's close to many locations and there's always a carriage waiting to take you anywhere else. It doesn't take very long for her to arrive the stables. Once there, Lavinia begins to look for the young man she'd spoken with over the orb, daintly lifting her dress up to keep it off the ground.]

It doesn't even have a name, because Kay? Could not care less about horses.
He was going to the stables from the castle, but because his rooms were close to them anyway, he'd arrived first. Kay was leaning against the partition between the stalls, arms folded, looking artfully careless and bored.]

Well, well, aren't you a handsome lad.

Sure. I'll be there in ten minutes.

Soon, then.

[He'll get there first, since Knights are housed right by the stables. Kay's waiting for her, sitting on a bench against the wall opposite the stalls. He's slumped forward, resting his forearms on his knees, bored rather than tired.]

Now, I ask, because while I have little use for either myself, I am a bit intrigued by a man who thinks he doesn't need a sword in the middle of all that. A horse, well, if you can't ride, it won't do you much good. But a sword? Most folk would be glad to have some manner of weapon at hand, one would think.

You're Still Up. Yay!
Though, I'd probably not do much of anything with a sword if someone handed it to me, either. If you do keep it, I think you're supposed to point the sharp end away from yourself. You know. Just in case.
[A little smile.]
I'm sure we haven't met yet, young man. I'm Selene, and these people seem to think I'm a princess. Now, who am I to argue?
not for long, though :(
I know how they're supposed to work. I'd just be more comfortable with a piece of rebar or something.
[Sigh.]
I'm Kay. You can probably tell from the horse and sword I'm trying to pawn that I don't really care about being a knight.
I expect no replies when I tag after work. Sorry.
[She tips her head to the side, pushing a bi of hair back behind her ear.]
You don't like playing games, I'm guessing. Can't blame you there.
It's cool bro, we'll make it work! I'm in this game because the pace is so slow
Yeah. Me too.
[But he's going to leave those memories in the past. Selene offered a different subject, and Kay's going to take it.]
I don't like being messed with. This whole place -- if it wasn't bad enough that it pulled me away from my entire life, it's like it's making fun of me on top of that. Telling me I'm a knight, dressing me up in fur, giving me things I can't use, and then the person in charge of it all being some kind of idiot...guh, it's just insulting.
We do what we can, after all~

[One, Kay doesn't feel he needs to learn swordfighting, not when he has
FISTSwolf claws. Two, he doesn't want to make an idiot of himself in front of someone here trying to learn something new and potentially dangerous. Three, this guy would want something in exchange for the lessons, and Kay doesn't want to be in anyone's debt.]no subject
