warewolf: awroo roo? (many simple things)

Orb, Day 2 of the Great Heat's Beginning

[Kay looks tired. His injuries haven't fully healed yet -- there are some bandages visible above the neckline of the tunic he's wearing. It looks like he's done his best to hide them, but not quite succeeded.]

So, uh...I've got this horse, and...does anybody want it? I mean, I'm not going to do anything with it. I can't freaking ride a horse. So it might as well go to someone who can, right?

I can get around just fine without it, and I don't have a clue how to take care of the damn thing. Someone take it off my hands already. Same with this sword thing.

[He holds it up, turning it back and forth in the light, looking at it.]

I don't need it. I don't even know if it's any good. But if I keep it, it's not gonna kill anything but dust bunnies, because it's not coming out from under the bed, you know what I mean?

Any takers? I'll trade you something for them.

Not that I doubt your word, but might I see this horse? My nephew would like one, I dare say. [Not... that she's actually talked to Giles about the idea. But such is the way of Lavinia and she knows Giles is quite a good rider.]

Yes, of course. I'll be there shortly.

[The best thing about living in the castle? It's close to many locations and there's always a carriage waiting to take you anywhere else. It doesn't take very long for her to arrive the stables. Once there, Lavinia begins to look for the young man she'd spoken with over the orb, daintly lifting her dress up to keep it off the ground.]

[Lavinia offers a courteous smile toward Kay when she sees him, though her attention goes immediately to the horse. Having grown up on an estate in London, Lavinina knew a thing or two about horses. Every proper Englishwoman was a rider, whether it was going off on a weekend hunt, or else riding for pleasure.]

Well, well, aren't you a handsome lad.

[Lavinia offers a closed hand to the horse, allowing him to sniff her hand. She watches him as he snuffles at her hand and gives it a small nudge, only then giving his cheek a small pat.]

Do tell, what would you want in exchange for the horse? The sword too, perhaps, if you're looking to rid yourself of that as well.

I have money and jewels. While the people here are kind enough to offer some things out of the goodness of their hearts, I find a bit of extra coin does well for better service and items.

Otherwise I do know a sage that I'm sure would be more than delighted to offer a few readings. [Actually, Lavinia isn't sure Giles would be delighted at all, perhaps exasperated at the idea, but what's a bit of volunteering among family?]

Scrying. Looking into your future, seeing what other people are up to, those sorts of things. He's also quite the wealth of knowledge too. Very bright lad.

I can't speak for all the sages around here and how good they are, but I do believe he's one of the best. Spent much of his life in books deciphering prophesies and things like that.

[He would be right. The life of a Watcher, quite dull. That was one reason she ran from it. Along with the lifetime of trauma, horror, and Latin.]

That is correct.

Of course, take your time, dear.

Me?

[Lavinia turns and gives a slight smile. It's certainly not London, but London had been many things over the years.]

It's quaint and charming, I suppose. A little on the rustic side. I do miss the nightlife, it can get so dreadfully boring here. Conversation can be so dull too. It's certainly not London. Or Paris.
