[The video feed starts with a lovely view of... something. Blurs? Accompanied by an exclamation, "ah!", and a loud noise upon contact with what can only be assumed as the floor. You are picked up and rubbed and a few seconds later, have an actual view of somebody's face. It's a young girl, grimacing. She takes a few steps back, turns, and bows deeply before you.]

I'm Hanaori Kotoha. Um...

I'm not sure...

[Maybe it would've been a good idea to think about what she was going to say before she actually started this thing up. She laughs nervously.]

I asked questions, but... Sorry for not preparing!

[Probably not the right ones. She had asked the man about the Gedoushuu, about her friends, about where she was, but she hadn't asked any of the practical questions like where she was going to stay or how to get there.

She bows her head quickly in another apologetic gesture. Maybe she could still go back and find that man? Ask him where she would go now and how to get there? Perhaps she would receive replies from people via this orb contraption. She tried to think of it as a phone.]

I'm a knight, so I look forward to working with you all.

I'll try my best!

[She clasps her hands together and to her chest and nods in determination.]

[So there's this guy on the other end of the orb...and he has never seen this person before in his life. But he can tell her heart's in the right place.]

Ah, it's okay, I don't think anyone can ever really prepare for their first time using that thing.

[She's taking it better than he did. There was a lot of confused yelling that day...]

[That voice? Kotoha was sure she had heard it somewhere before, but surely that couldn't be possible? She squinted at the orb and her mouth dropped in realisation.]

Ah! Gunpei-san?!

[She held the orb in both hands when she addressed him this time, bringing it to closer to her face.]

This isn't the Gaiark either?

[So. Confused. So very confused.

...wait a second, he's got a likely explanation, and he grins when he thinks of it.]

[She giggles at him because he's funny. I mean he's obviously joking right? She doesn't quite understand.]

No Gunpei-san! It's me, Kotoha! Shinken Yellow!

[At least the not understanding is mutual, because Gunpei has no idea what's going on here either. He is so confused.]

[She touches the ends of her own hair for comparison and spends a few seconds wondering how that's possible.]

[She smiles widely, still enamoured with this long blonde hair, before nodding.]

Yes I am, but I didn't really ask the man the right questions so I'm not really sure what to do now...

[She trails off, looking around.]

[ Rapunzel puzzles over that for a moment. The term she’d used – ‘knight’ – didn’t ring too many bells but it seemed like a very important title. ]

Well, what did you ask him? I didn’t ask him many of the right questions. I learned…what little I know from other people here!

This is all rather shocking to the system, Miss...Katahoa?

[The face in the orb seems kindly enough, but doesn't seem to be giving the conversation her full attention.]

Was there anything in particular you didn't quite get a proper answer to? Or that you forgot to ask? It's a bit much to take in, but I've a couple minutes, I think.

[She offers a smile, and little nod, now.]

I'm Selene, by the way.

[Ah! A person! Talking to her! She was so pleased that she was hardly bothered about the mispronunciation of her name.]

Ah, I'm Kotoha. Nice to meet you.

[Seeing as she had been wondering about this for a small while now, she didn't have to think for too long of an answer to this helpful person's question. She knew what to ask now.]

Um, I'm a knight, and, I'm not really sure where I go now.

[She pulls out Shinkenmaru, her sword. She wasn't sure if she were to go and sign up somewhere, or to go and see somebody high up to register her presence here, or if she should go and ask around for her place to sleep or go and find other knights.]

Ko-to-ha. I'll try to remember that, but I ain't going to promise it'll happen right away.

[A slightly sheepish smile flits across her face.]

Hmmm. Well, I suppose if you aren't still in the castle, you'd be nearby, at least. There's always rooms available for those of us who have been brought here, if you need somewhere to sleep and keep your things.

[She chewed on her lips for a moment, considering the options.]

The forest that still stands outside of the town is safe enough during the day, but has monsters roaming at night. If you don't get out in time, you'll get trapped in by a sort of fence of thorns. So be careful hunting things out there.

Do you know how to use that thing, dear? Otherwise, I'd not wave it about too much. The locals are...unusual. Can't trust them to react, well. Quite properly.

[Kotoha nodded fervently at the woman on the orb. She was currently experiencing a mixture of feelings upon hearing the new information she was being (very kindly!) given. She couldn't afford much of a room, but she was extremely pleased to hear that there was a forest she could train in.]

Ah - I only have Japanese yen though. Will that be good enough to pay for a room?

[Realisation dawns on her and she clumsily shoves the sword back where it was. A quick habitual bow of apology and a glance about at anybody who could've been watching. She inwardly kicks herself.]

Sweetie, they pay us, and please, calm down. You're fine, it's not that you'll scare anyone. They'll just ask you to use that thing on the, I don't know, bunny monster in the garden or the butterflies that threaten from atop their flowers of doom, or some other clap they come up with to get our attention.

And if anyone asks to marry you, it's best just to say no.

[Selene clears her throat and looks back over her should for a moment.]

Hell and damnation.

[A sigh, and she shakes her head.]

Anyhow, the rooms in the castle are free, anyway, and don't let them charge you if the do try. They kidnapped us, Miss Ko-to-ha. Not the other way around.

[She wants to give you her brightest smile - it's no trouble when she meets a new person who wishes to be her friend and offer her help. However, that hat was something else. She smiled and laughed, albeit a little nervously. She bows to him.]

[She giggles at him, a little more at ease now that it was more suitable to laugh. After becoming accustomed to seeing Ryuunosuke in his kabuki clothes, she always managed to tone down her surprise and possible amusement because it may have been rude, but now that she knew that he also thought it silly... She is relieved.

[[Thankfully, Bakura is very easy going and not at all the type to get upset at someone laughing at him. (Goodness knows he's done enough things that get laughed at...!)]]

The costume helps sometimes, in getting the locals to be more agreeable, and is actually sort of fun to go around in, sorry if it surprised you!

He'd only been half paying attention to the chatter on the orb--it served as a nice sort of background noise while he explored the castle and the grounds. Until the word knight came up, unmistakably from a female speaker.

[She regards him for a second, before smiling and nodding.]

Yes! I'm a samurai. I fight the monsters at home, and I have my own sword.

[Still reeling--he blinks at her as she talks, some words familiar and others foreign.

The whole thing makes him very, very aware of the beating of his heart, the expanding of his ribs as he breathes, shallow.

But he shakes himself out of it. A question. Questions need answers.]
