It's been some time since I've been away from Asgard and I recall the times I have left, it was of my own will. While I understand your land is in need of help, as some of the kind people here in town have told me, I have many things to attend to at home. Considering the events that have transpired recently, I believe my family needs me far more than the people of this land.

Right? [ luckily, mako was able to interrogate his greeter for a while before he had to save him from korra but... he ended up with more questions than answers, really. ]

You said you were from Asgard — ah, do you know a Thor, or a Sif?

[ he'll ask about the "YOU LEFT YOUR WORLD BEFORE?????" stuff after this bit. ]

Yes. Thor is my son and Sif one of his oldest friends. Though I am curious as to how you know them.

There is no way to leave as we yet know, but-- Forgive me, do you mean to say you come from a place called Asgard?

That is disappointing to hear.

[ There is a soft whine, as soon as Loki hears the voice. He perks and barks, roughly, and scrambles to his feet, peering over the edge of the table where Sansa sits.

The orb is small, and his wolf's sight is not as sharp, but he knows it is her, and his ears are tense and upright. ]

[ Sansa assumes he wants a portion of her lunch, so she cuts him a thin strip of meat and holds it level with his nose. ]

My pardons, my lady-- It is only that I have heard your kingdom's name before, from a lady here named Sif.

Things are totally out of whack where I'm from, too. Whoever's bringing these "champions" doesn't seem to be giving much thought to the balance of all the other worlds, too.

[NOT THAT she's been the best at restoring balance, and not that she wouldn't do her best at working for it anywhere, but the equalist thing was getting sort of pressing and personal. and she doesn't want to abandon that]

They will have much to answer for their misdeeds.

[Asgard sounds familiar..... But since he can't remember from where, he doesn't worry about it]

[He laughs.]

[ He skitters through the palace, heedless of any chaos caused (he trips a servant near the bottom of a set of stairs, he causes a lady to shriek in surprise, he dodges past the feet of guards), until he finds her scent. It is the smell of home, and he longs for it and fears it both. She is the only person he wants to see, but the last person he would like to find here.

He noses his way to her door and scratches at it, anxious. ]

[It takes her moment to hear the noise at the door over conversations on the orb and another to make sure she's composed enough for visitors. When she does open the door, she does so harshly and looks first expectantly around before dropping her gaze.]

[She says no more, only takes a few steps back into the room and kneels. She opens her arms, beckoning the wolf to her.]

[ He leaps straight into her arms. Like a child, like a boy in need of comfort, and perhaps at this moment, in this time, he's nothing more than a wounded child. He buries a wet nose in her neck, and shakes in her arms.

Here, all of his schemes are forgotten. All of his mischief. He has missed her terribly, and he didn't even know it until now. ]

I apologize, Ma'am. The spell that brings us here is rarely very considerate in its timing. I'm afraid we cannot send you home until we find a way home ourselves.

[matrimony]

That is unfortunate here. Are there many others trapped here?

A dozen or two. Enough.

[There is shock in Sif's voice, mixed with outrage. To take the princes in the midst of other journeys is easy enough to put at fate's doorstep. But to take from Asgard its queen?]

[matrimony]

Lady Sif, it's good to see a familiar face. [Despite the situation, she's speaking rather calmly.]

[brosif]

[Shaking her head clear, Sif remembers herself and bows before her Queen, hand to her chest.]

I am always privileged to see your highness, though I worry for Asgard without its Queen. Are you unharmed?

((I'm so sorry I missed this! It was a busy weekend.))

I am. I was on my way back from Midgard... What are you doing here?

[It's not accusatory, or angry, as Sif was; but it is entirely shocked. Seeing his mother outside of Asgard, and especially in Schwanheim, is rather like seeing the Destroyer put on a dress and do a dance: something that should be relegated to the domain of dreams.]
