[Log] Up the Beanstalk
Characters: All who want to investigate the beanstalk
Open? Obviously :D
Where: On the outskirts of Schwanheim
When: All day
What: A giant beanstalk has made an appearance in a field outside the capital. You all know how this goes.

The beanstalk that Gretel had planted was now spindling up from the ground out of sight into the clouds, almost five feet thick in diameter as it twisted and turned upwards into the sky.
Not very far from the base lay a large lady's compact mirror, at least a foot in diameter, stuck in the dirt, it's mirror shattered. The powder lay in clumps and dust all around it, metal bent and warped. The design on the back, however, was still intact, the impact mostly having damaged the bottom half.

He wrinkled his nose a little and buried his nose in Loki's shoulder a moment. "Smells like cleaning."

"Unless they think we're vermin and set out mousetraps," she didn't stray too far, but she was looking around. "I mean, if it was our size this is what homes looked like where I'm from about 50 years ago." She exaggerated, they can't tell, she's good.

“Why would you think anyone had been killed here? They were just watching TV and making cupcakes, there is no sign that these giants have done anything wrong at all. They just carelessly misplaced their compact.”
And since these giants hadn’t done anything…
“We should just leave them alone and cut down the bean stalk.”

"In the meantime, what I would like is to speak with them, and It seems that I am not alone in this. Though, if I am, I'm willing enough to go on ahead."
A touch to Faolan's shoulder, again, and a glance to Bay. "Come," he said. "Let's find this giantess."

She shook her head. It was a shame that those two innocents had, for whatever reason, decided to follow that fool.
“It could also turn out to be like the girl says, they will see you as vermin. It is better not to provoke an encounter if it is not necessary.”
Late to the party, whoops
Go back down? Already? When he had just finally made it up? No way!

"You look winded. Will you be alright?"

"I might be able to carry you back down. This bag might have enough room left for some one like you."

How Loki could have possibly known about her borrowed cupcakes when he hadn't been there to see her take them was only slightly more annoying than his trying to speak for some one else.
"The boy should be able to make his own choices. I was being nice just then in offering that."

Koma could certainly come off as abrupt and she had no trouble at all speaking her mind, but she was a little concerned what would happen to this group. Could that kid even climb back down? Would the giants be agreeable to chatting?
"Be careful if you decide to keep going."

"Don't know! Cleaning smells like lab! TV sounds like lab! Baking could be poisoned! Don't know! People can be bad!"
He did have to admit that the only thing that made him inclined to think they were was memories of the lab, but that didn't negate his point! Just because they hadn't seen the giants being cruel didn't mean anything. They hadn't seen the giants at all, yet.

He turned, and nodded towards -- well, whatever doorway was nearest and looked most promising. With one final glance at the girl, he started that way.

"So, show of hands, who here has met a giant living in a house out of Leave it to Beaver? Because right now I think its safe to say this is new for all of us," her tone hushed but stern, like you would expect in a theater or while avoiding catching the attention of parents while you and your brother argue in the next room. Obviously next time she goes adventuring she should talk to as much of the party as possible before climbing a beanstalk, "What are we even hoping to do up here anyway?"
Right now Bay was hoping she could find some soda, a single can here could probably last her a few weeks if she could get it down and keep it cold. But that was hardly a priority at the moment. Her priority is that if they argue like this much longer they could attract attention and annoying the giants wasn't on her agenda.

The refrigerator, white with rounded edges that made it look pleasantly plump. Bay will have a bit of trouble getting up to haul it open, however, as she only comes up to about the middle of the bottom half, not quite tall enough to get an easy grip on the handle.
From behind the group comes the still faint sound of a woman's voice singing a touch off key along with the theme music to the TV show on the TV. It's getting closer.

He turned back around, scampering away from Loki to explore all the new smells of the kitchen. In here, it didn't seem so threatening.

He considered possible results: that the giant would spot them and panic, that they could hide and watch her... perhaps, now, the best choice was to take a page from Thor's book, much as Loki disliked it. Hiding could be counterproductive.
Loki paused at a doorway. Slipped out one of his knives and rapped the handle on the frame, as though knocking. The knife slipped away, hidden again, and he called: "Hello?"

And the girl’s reference to a dated television show was very humorous. Koma wondered how many of these others would understand it or if they were from times much different than her own. But, just like the boy’s curious mentioning of ‘a lab’ this didn’t seem like the time or the place to ask about those things.
“At least some one had a good reason for coming.”
Climbing of course, was a good enough excuse since Koma herself had felt the need to climb up and at least look around enough to satisfy her curiosity. Provoking an encounter with the people who lived here did not sounds like a good idea to her.

"Remember your manners," he murmured, to the other two. "And flattery rarely goes amiss. If you are afraid, come to my side, and I will cast us invisible. No matter what is said of me -- I will not leave a companion, not when it is in my ability to stay."
The words fall well on his tongue. Strong, clean.
I keep forgetting Bakura's in this scene @_@
