[Cade poses dramatically before his orb as it activates for the first time, rapier out and hat cocked just a bit to the side.]

Hello there, fellow heroes and heroines! The old man tells me I was brought here to save the world, and that this magic item is how I can speak with my fellow adventurers!
I am CADE MASTERS, ADVENTURER EXTRAORDINAIRE!!!! Villains the world over tremble at my name, from the ports of Lajuria to the northern reaches of Ustav-
...oh, right, you probably don't know what any of those places are. Well, anyways, just know that I am amazing. Now, I'm sure you are all very eager with questions and requests for autographs - it's so exciting to meet me and all that - but please try not to bombard me with all your communications at once!

[Ginia raises a brow slightly. Ahh, this could be promising. She sets the journal aside and raises her own hands, slowly signing back in American Sign Language. It may not be universal at all, but maybe there's some overlap.]

/You know sign language?/

[Cade's world is effected by a "bleed" from the "real" Earth, so one may be surprised how much overlap there is. All the same, there are enough differences that messages can get a bit garbled.]

/Yes, I know how to count./

[It's not perfect, but it is closer than she expected. She laughs softly, an air huffing sound. She repeats the signs for 'sign language', then writes it out on her journal. Underneath, she asks:]

Can I see the sign for count?

[Cade nods and points his two index fingers up and makes circular motions with them. (It is near identical to ASL for "sign").]

[Very interesting! Ginia mimics the sign back before making a small note for herself in her journal. Between signing and writing out whatever words might get lost in translation, this might not be bad at all.]
