Level 4: Two Books [RD 16]

[[Bakura's in the library of the Hero's Headquarters, looking a touch befuddled.]]

Does anyone know where these books came from? [[Holds up a pair of old looking books, neither of them labeled. One of them has a simple lock on it.]]

I can't find a key for this one, and this... [[he sets down the locked book to open the unlocked one, opening it to a page that has the day written on top of it, followed by smaller writing that's hard to read from the orb]]

It looks like a journal of sort... but this is today's date. And it has what was posted on the news board written in it.

If we're playing a game, I think the rules are dufferent from what our captors would like them to be.

Somehow I doubt that the ones who summoned us are in charge of that sort of thing at all.

No, probably not. But whatever is in charge made a mistake thinking I'll play its game the way I'm supposed to.

[She smiles at Bakura.]

I'm going to check the board. Who do you think would be able to make a lock and keys?

There's the locksmith who took care of the doors here who's in the market square. If you say it's for the Hero House, it should still be covered. I took care of his mother's leg and he said if we needed anything, that was payment enough.

[[Someone's been building a lot of currency with the locals, it would seem~]]

I can't imagine this requiring a great deal of unusual work. On his part.

Are there any...wizards...who might be capable of increasing the protection of a locked box?

I'm not sure.... I could try something but I don't think any of my magic is long lasting like that.

Someday, these might be important. I don't intend to dismiss their appearance as happy chance. And if I am right, that means having them will become dangerous, if someone opposed to this war ending with victory for the King learns of them.
