Orb Post: 2nd of Rebirth's Decline

[Many might notice a rumble of thunder in the cloudy sky, and then a single crack of lightning, hitting somewhere outside of Schwanheim.

The very keen-eared might hear a roar, almost animal-like, along with it.

But there is no further commotion, and some time later, the Orb comes on to show a man that many will already recognize: Thor. He is holding a sword somewhat awkwardly, like it's been a while since he held one, and he seems, while not unfriendly, a little tense.]

Greetings, Heroes of Schwanheim. My name is Thor, son of Odin, and I require your eyes and ears.

I am looking for two things that I believe are in this realm. The first is a mighty warhammer that will not be lifted; the second, a dark-haired man that goes by the name Loki L... [He cannot say it. Not that other name.] That goes by Loki.

It is urgent that I find both as soon as possible. Has anyone seen them?

((The hammer, Mjolnir, is somewhere in the Two-Faced Forest, and Loki is Big Bad Wolf-ing it up, but feel free to clue him in to either!))

Probably realized there wasn't any point to it. It really sounded like he was just trying to get a reaction from everyone, to be honest! Seeing if just the threat of it would be enough. Especially since it did sound like he would know what to do if he were being serious. [[So utterly nonchalant about this whole thing]]

[thoreal]

[Witness the Son of Asgard being completely nonplussed. Not so much because of what the young man said, but because... well, this is something even Thor himself doesn't entirely understand about his brother.]

I suspect he would have come up with something. [He smiles weakly.] And he... got the reaction he wanted, you feel?

[shiromadoushi]

I don't think he did. He seemed a bit frustrated, to be honest. This place... I don't think it follows the rules he's used to.

[thoreal]

Oh, I don't know. I'm not sure my brother has ever been one for rules of any kind.

[shiromadoushi]

[[a bit of a smile]] Even more the reason to be frustrated when suddenly dealing with a different set of them.

[thoreal]

[Honestly, there's a part of him that's just surprised to hear that either these "rules" were strong enough to keep Loki in line, or that he gave up so easily. But maybe this, too, is a good sign.]

Perhaps so, friend. I am pleased to hear he is adapting so well, if it is as well as it sounds.

[shiromadoushi]

As well as any of us are, I think. [[smiles]] I'm sure you'll find him soon.

[thoreal]

[He chuckles, good-natured even in his concern.] I appreciate your conviction. I shall let it bolster my own.

[shiromadoushi]

[[smiles, nodding. That was the way it was supposed to work, after all!]]

And if I see him, I'll let him know you're looking. And I'll see if I can spot your hammer as well, though really, with this place, it's likely to be someplace you won't expect. [[or possibly guarded by a dragon. If it was even here at all.]]

[The first part makes him hesitate.]

If you find Loki... I will find him, as well. Do not trouble yourself on that account.

[Because if Loki has seen the Orb and hasn't answered, it means he's hiding somewhere. If Loki hasn't seen the Orb and finds out Thor is looking... he might well hide, anyway.]

But please do let me know if you come across Mjolnir.

[[A small nod. Something complicated, huh?]]

The hammer? Is there anything special about it besides it's weight? [[since really, look at this kid, there's bound to be a lot of things he can't lift]]

[thoreal]

[Even the Hulk can't lift it, so don't feel threatened, Bakura!]

It is inscribed with the runes of Asgard, infused with the power of the gods. You will know it when you see it.

[shiromadoushi]

[[nods with a grin]] So not just similar in names, then?

[thoreal]

[And now he smiles broadly. A Prince of Asgard smile.]

Indeed, no.

[shiromadoushi]

[[Have a fanboy grin in return. He's going to be good about it, mind, he is a polite boy. Just a very very nerdy one.]]

Heeeeeh, that's pretty cool! You'll have to tell me how much of the myths and stories are true once you're settled!

[thoreal]

[Hey, Thor loves fanboys! Fanboy away!]

I will. You'd be surprised, I think.

[shiromadoushi]

I'm sure I will! Stories like that always are a little different than people tell them, right?

[thoreal]

I think so. Fewer than you may think, but more than you may hope.

[shiromadoushi]

Can't wait to hear them!

[[a pause]]

Aa-- I forgot to introduce myself! [[realizes with a bit of embarrassing]] Bakura Ryou, pleased to meet you! [[bows just a bit]]

And you, Bakura Ryou. You are from Midgard? From... Earth?

[[nods]] Un, from Tokyo, Japan on Earth.
