thequestgiverToday is the 3rd day of the The Beginning of the Season of Great Heat in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.
The battle of Fire and Ice has finally concluded! Or so the townspeople say. Some will say that the Will of the Wisp in the White Forest wrapped itself around the Frost Spirit that had been wandering the farmlands and their passionate reunion turned them both into steam (the vapid girls follow this with a chorus of sighs and swoons.) Others say that the weather simply got confused, thinking it was time for the Great Cold instead of the Great Heat and it got smacked down to acting properly. Others say that the heroes were the ones to put down that smack down, trekking out into the wilderness where the Queen of Ice had set down her castle and banished her back to the Otherworld until her proper season.
Well. Whatever the case, the Big River is back to normal and the fire seems to be gone from the White Forest. Well. Mostly gone. Or at least done with it, since there's a distinct smell of ash coming from it and a lot more black than white. The heroes that weren't battling against the Return of the Great Cold were seen going in there, so whatever was causing it must have been dealt with, right? Besides, everyone knows the White Forest is boring, so it if did burn down, at least that would be something interesting, right?
And oddly enough, some of the heroes seem to be missing still... Well. No matter. Heroes come and went, right? It surely had nothing to do with that strange spot that warped time trapping them in an elongated period of time where they would still be battling against the cold, right?
Speaking of forests, it seems the foreshadowing of the New Moon is starting again with the sighting of a hideous wolf lurking about outside of the city. Rumors that it was stalking after the darling little wolf child after turning his guardian, the Blacksmith into a turtle spread fast and furious once it was discovered that indeed, the Blacksmith had been transformed! Conflicting rumors instantly popped up that the witch that he lived with had transformed him and sent the monster wolf after the child, but that only set off a loud debate among the young ladies who doted over the Blacksmith and the rest of the gossiping crowd quickly left them alone to battle it out for Most Devoted Fan.
The weather is forecasted to be pleasant and mild, though a little cooler than would be expected for the start of the Great Heat. Hrm.
