[When Selene appears in the orb, she's not quite her usual, princessy self. Several cuts can be seen on her face: cheeks, over her lips, across her nose. She seems to be ignoring them, but anyone can tell they probably hurt. Badly.]

Well, I have what I think is good news. Those stupid fucking thorns don't appear to be poisonous, either the actual thorns, or the vines they're growing out of. So we can check that off of whatever list we're keeping about what they damned things are and are not capable of.

[She sighs and reaches up to carefully rub the side of her nose, wincing just a little bit.]

The fuckers do grow right quick, however, so leave that one on the list. Strong, too.

[She shakes her head.]

So. When I'm back in town, I need to buy some pies or something. They don't have to be that good, because I had to save all three of the stupid bastards, but damn them if they didn't come running in when the damn thorns grabbed at me. Stupid fucks.

[She spits to the side, and growls.]

And since they will be jawing about it the first chance they get, the fuckers aren't lying when they say I kind of became a really, really big wolf to drag their sorry asses out of the fire.

[A huff.]

Oh. Anyone want a piece of the damn thorns? I had to dig a few out of myself after I got out of there.

[Selene looks away from the orb...which doesn't fail to show the cuts go right on down her neck and out of view.]

I'm fine, Rapunzel. I probably look a mess, but I'll be pretty as ever by the time I get back to town. And no one else got nabbed by the thorns any way at all, so we're all good here.

I decided to take a gander at the big, bad thorns.

[She snorts at him.]

Just because I've got nice hair and a fine bone structure doesn't make me dainty, boy, and you'd do well to remember that. I don't care who you're married to, you shouldn't imagine that just because someone is a lady, they're going to need you hovering over them all the goddamn time.

[For a moment, she looks like she has more to say, but then the orb simply goes dark, instead.]

[She was no stranger to cuts and bruises, battles and scars. However, she hadn't seen much of anything of that nature since she'd been here - she supposed she's just been hoping that what she had been told wasn't true.]

Selene-san! Are you okay? I'll take care of your wounds!

No, I am not fucking okay. Nothing to drink, nothing to smoke, and I'd feel bad if I broke one of these bastard's noses, since I just saved their sorry asses. So these fucks are about on my last nerve, and they won't stop trying to see to my face, and if I hear another one coming with a pot of boiling water I might have to dump it on him.

[She growls, and though she looks perfectly human, it doesn't sound like anything a person should be able to make.]

And don't bother. I'm going to run out along the thorns without these damn soldiers and see if I can spot anything they'd get in the way of exploring. Besides, I was about stir crazy in that tiny little city. Three bars and an inn, and not one of the barkeeps will serve me more than one drink. At least out here I can run.

[Kotoha outstretches her hands and waves them vigorously, as if this would help matters any.]

They're just trying to help you!

[She had so far been too hesitant to go beyond the city. She still wasn't sure of this place, and does want to help and use her sword, but it would be silly to go out there and worry anybody if she happened to get into any trouble. Selene seemed clued in though.]

If you like, I could come with you! I'm good with a sword and I won't get in your way!

[She's silent for a moment. No one calls her on her shit anymore, so she's not sure how to take it. A little smile finally appears.]

[She shakes her head a little.]

I threw some stones. Wanted to get a feel for reaction. Would have been fine, but when they started to grow, those stupid fucks came running in like it was the end of the world, swinging their swords and yelling like manic retards. After that...things got interesting.
