I would like very much to speak with anyone the locals have called 'prince' or 'princess.' I have a proposition for you.

Bakura, do you know anything about what has been happening to the refugees? The people being forced out of villages and homes by the thorns? Where are they going, what are they doing?

Does anyone run any kind of a business, by chance? I seem to recall a bakery, and a smithy, though the latter isn't running, the last I heard.

I know I'm going to regret asking, but is there anyone in the city familiar with complex spells? Magics. Whichever. Specifically, would it be possible to link two locations, separated by a large distance? And is anyone capable of this?

And what does anyone know about a disembodied, female voice?

[A moment of silence, then a heavy sigh.]

Also, if there is someone who is familiar with the use of a sword, I'd like to speak with you about the basics. I would rather not make a fool out of myself.

Do you think the king would attempt to take it back?

[He hasn't met the monarch here yet and so can't judge for himself, but what little he has heard hasn't been the most flattering.]

And have we got anyone who could put a spell on the money to make it stay put?

Not really. But I also don't expect him to say your money is suddenly mine if you were to go back, especially if you leave it in his treasury. Besides, if you haven't noticed that something is off here, you're not paying attention. So I can't say I really trust my impressions of the King to be correct in every situation.

[She nods.]

Spell the money. I never even thought of that.

[Because she's still only offering magic a place in this world on a provisional basis. Also, it's hard to remember that this money is real, not electronic.]

I suppose there may be a few people capable of something like that.

It would be more effective invested, then. You can sell back whatever goods you don't use. Unless everything we use our money for disappears as well.

You still might try spelling it, though, as a precaution.
