I would like very much to speak with anyone the locals have called 'prince' or 'princess.' I have a proposition for you.

Bakura, do you know anything about what has been happening to the refugees? The people being forced out of villages and homes by the thorns? Where are they going, what are they doing?

Does anyone run any kind of a business, by chance? I seem to recall a bakery, and a smithy, though the latter isn't running, the last I heard.

I know I'm going to regret asking, but is there anyone in the city familiar with complex spells? Magics. Whichever. Specifically, would it be possible to link two locations, separated by a large distance? And is anyone capable of this?

And what does anyone know about a disembodied, female voice?

[A moment of silence, then a heavy sigh.]

Also, if there is someone who is familiar with the use of a sword, I'd like to speak with you about the basics. I would rather not make a fool out of myself.

I'm sure someone must be. I can even help some, when the other white mage wakes up. Or maybe I can just tell the locals I'm taking a sabbatical so I'll have the time to.

The longer you can hold out, the more entrenched any favours owed to you will be. Perhaps if you insisted only on treating more serious injuries? But when you have to stop, let me know. You have my support.

[Because he's too important to run into the ground for no good reason. And there's a part of Liara that hates herself for making judgements based on the value of use she can get out of someone, but that doesn't stop her doing it anyway.]

Honestly, I can't think of anyone in this place that doesn't owe me a favor, really. [[a faint smile]] I might start rationing them out, though. Unless it's an emergency, only one call a week.

You really should take care of yourself. What would happen if you fell asleep, too?

I'm the only other doctor in town, and I'm not sure I quite qualify for the job you're doing.

Somehow I don't think the other one fell asleep to get away from people pestering him. [[smiles in return]]

And I wouldn't even call this being a doctor. A doctor can tell what the problem is and what caused it. I just tell the body to hurry up and heal itself already. [[His tone is light and joking, a slight hint of a New York City accent in his voice as he unconsciously mimicked the locals of his previous home town.]]

I don't know, he has been here longer than either of us.

Besides, without medi-gel, that's still more than I can do.

It's a compound developed to help the body heal itself. It's useful on battle wounds, broken bones, burns...

[She doesn't say anything about the reaction, though.]

It is, especially for people like me, who spend a lot of time in somewhat dangerous areas alone.

But we don't have any.

I wonder if there's some way it could be made.. like a potion or something like that...

I can't dismiss the chance, but I've not seen a great many things that would be necessary to even hope to recreate it. And Sirta specifications are hard to get, so I'm not sure I could make it anyway. Bad medi-gel is even more dangerous than none.

We wouldn't be trying to make it like it's made back home for you, but something that's like a localized version. There has to be something that can be put together and enchanted...
