[The orb comes up, and Sif is surrounded by a small but dedicated throng of villagers. All of whom are waving pieces of paper about. Her hair is disheveled, and as she brings a hand up to tug on her necklace there is a very audible crack as her elbow connects with the nose of a young maiden. It is accidental, but satisfying.]
What in all the worlds has gotten into the townspeople, this day? My autograph has been requested more times this morning than in the past month.

[It had finally gotten to the point where Giles had started using Ginia's illicit gift of an invisibility cloak. As it stands, he's hiding out back at his house, having set up a couple of mystical alarms to hopefully frighten off any other hopefuls.]

It's been a long day.]
Why specifically signatures, then? If it was magic, um, then I could understand signatures. With the right sort of spell, there's a good deal of power in having someone's name written down.

Not many, I'm fairly certain of that. I'd say the percentage that can do both is, um, negligible.
[...] Which means that, um, particularly susceptible to an official enough sounding rumor. If someone spread the word that our signatures can bind us into...something...do you really think they'd know the difference? Honestly, um, in the marketplace, sometimes a signature is as good as an I.O.U.
Look at the rumors they believe about us, um, on a daily basis.
[He is not Helios' secret lover, god dammit.]

[She is not the lady meat in a Thor and Loki sammich :|]
A place to start looking, then, may be the town square. But I hold no keen desire to return to that place.

I can't guarantee I'll be able to mind my manners if I find the one responsible, of course.
