[ Loki's skin is pale; he, once again, looks human, his eyes green, his hair dark. His fingers are restless, tapping. ] Shall we have a tale?
Here, I believe the appropriate beginning is, let's see... Once upon a time.
Once upon a time, there was a little world. It had no boundaries, but it was small enough that it needed no boundaries. More on that later, I certainly expect. This world was made by balance between order and chaos. Order created and arranged, and chaos introduced an element of randomness. Evolution. Each required the other to innovate.
But, then, Order isn't so very good at innovation, is it? Perhaps inevitable that one day Chaos would begin to dominate. The balance reels, and the world changes -- or perhaps it's that the world changes, and the balance tips. Either way, each avatar, one of order, one of chaos, are locked in eternal battle. Thorns began to spread, and so Order had to try, again, to reach beyond itself. Literally, this time.
As we stand: order reached to heroes, but could not cope with the element of instability the heroes produced. Thus, it boxed them into confined roles, shaved off the bits of them that would not fit.
Take care, heroes, for chaos would destroy everything -- but order would destroy you from within.
This is, as it stands, all I know. Let you ignorants be satisfied with that.

It seems you and I are actually siblings. Possibly. I thought you should perhaps...you're not blue anymore.
[She actually sounds surprised, despite the colour (or lack of it) being visible in the orb when they spoke earlier.]

[ He lets the blue crawl over his skin, fading from fingertips, to elbows, to throat, over his face. ]
Truth be told, it's difficult to keep my skin pale, now that my role has changed. I assume you don't mind...?
[ He steps in, past her. ]
Sorry. Phone died yesterday so I couldn't hit tags from work.
I know of beings capable of changing colours, but I've never met a sentient one with nearly that level of control.
[After he entered, she closed the door and offered him the book in her hands.]
This one seems to interact with the board where all of the information is posted. Write in it, and the writing appears on the board, as well. This isn't the interesting one, however.
np, since I'm obviously slow as balls
[ He indicates the proper doorway, and steps inside, already opening the book. He flips quickly through the pages, understanding an overview of the contents, and then returns to the beginning. ]

[She follows him into the library.]
The one you have seems to be full mostly of garbage, though it goes back some time. There is a chance there's good information in it that was missed at the time.
The other is less...exuberant.
[She walks over to a book laying on a table, one with a place for a lock, but no lock to be found.]
Bakura arrived, as near as he can remember, in the first group transported here by the books. On the 17th of the Beginning of the Season of Rebirth, in the 137th year since the wall fell. He has confirmed from memory some of the other events mentioned. A town that was really only an illusion, for instance.
[She picked the book up and walked over, opening it to the first page.]

It's the notices from the sign, in the Town Square.
[ Fairly useless. Not only has he seen all of them, but it's full of ridiculous rumors. ]
I suppose he failed to mention that I was the one to find that the town was an illusion.

Still, there are interesting pieces to it. Like this.
[She points to the first entry.]

Hmm.

It doesn't make sense that they would lie in the first entry. Embellish, maybe.
Whoever thought to bring us here might have found references to such a feat from some past battle. Maybe it doesn't mean us, but the fight itself. The Wall. 137th year since the wall fell. Must have been an important wall, to mark the calendar's date with it's failure.
[She pauses, flushing a little darker as she looks up at him.]
Um, sorry. You said something when you spoke over the orb. About boundaries. What was it?

[ A pause. ]
I'm afraid I don't recall.

[She drops her question at that; for now, at least.]
