ORB - RD9, Mid-Morning.

[A new face, feminine, blue, and topped by, well, tentacles, appears in the Orb. She looks rather frustrated, and as she speaks, her voice carries a note of the same thing.]

My name is Dr. Liara T’Soni. My kidnapper insisted that this...device...would allow me to speak with others taken from their worlds. Like it was a gift, to help me play his little game. Of course, I’m probably just standing here talking to a rock. Goddess, I haven’t done that for a while.

[Shaking her head, she puts a hand up, covering most of her face.]

There isn’t much I can do without information, and what I’ve been given isn’t very helpful. I don’t suppose that anyone else had more luck getting answers than I did, but it can’t hurt to ask. Do you know anything?

[She drops the hand and sighs.]

We can’t possibly have much time left, so does anyone have a way to get a signal off of this planet? I don’t even know what cluster this is, so I have no idea how far away the front is, but I am certain that it is moving closer. They have hit just about everything else already. I must speak to someone in the allied fleet as soon as possible.

Ah I-I see. Well this city is called Schwanheim. As for charting stars...I-I wouldn't mind helping with that. I-I used to do it b-back home. If, if you'd like any assistance that it.

[ Helios will look upward at that. ] I've been curious about chartering stars in this place.

[A tiny little village isn't the best reference tool for her purposes, but she doesn't seem upset; it might prove useful information anyway. She offers a bit of a shrug.]

Without maps of constellations I'm more familiar with, I'm not sure if I'll be of much use, honestly, but I might have to try anyway.

Oh! Well I'm sure someone in these parts has mapped out a few of them. Th-there's always learning them too. I-I mean you're probably quite good at those sorts of things so it could certainly be a new challenge. [ And they do have time here, though not as much as one would like probably what with the thorns... ]

The people here are rather accommodating for us...ah, h-heros. At least they typically are. [ Though Helios hardly thinks himself of a hero at all. ] As for me I'm from Earth. A-And it's Helios, Helios Sprensonne. It's a pleasure meeting you.

That would be a start. I'll ask about that if I have a chance. I doubt they have any accurate measure of intensity, but I could probably work around that. Does anyone in this city work with glass?

Honetly, I'm an archaeologist. I have spent a great deal of time travelling, but astronomy was never my discipline. But if I can find a few familiar patterns, and the distance from a few solid refrences, then there is a good chance I can figure out where we actually are. Maybe.

[She pauses, and then continues with sadness in her voice; she hasn't gotten the multiple universe thing yet.]

My home was on Thessia, but I knew a lot of people on Earth. Do still have family there?
