[ the orb starts, cupped in its owner's hands as he sits on some random ass boulder or something. he's young, not even twenty it looks, with a lean, handsome face, and gold eyes, honey dark and serious. dark and messy hair, red scarf, charcoal jacket, against a backdrop of late afternoon sky over the city walls in the distance. a girl in blue sits with a polar bear sized... dog some distance away, quietly having A Moment of Feels. ]

I have some questions about... [ a little gesture at the surrounding... everything. he means like. the whole champion thing!!?? and stuff ] this place, the whole set up. People are listening to this, right?

[ LOOK he's just collecting data okay guys, ]

[ mako frowns, slightly, because, well, failure has never been a word he has associated with her. ]

Okay, well. [ his eyes flit to the orb, for a second, then the ground, before finally coming back to korra. ]

One of the champions is... a ghost, or something. That sort of counts as a spirit, right? We can find him first, see how that goes down, and then head out to see the thorns. Maybe being there will help. [ oh mako, trying to find a logical solution in everything. ]

[streamlines]

I'm not exactly a ghost expert, but it's a place to start, anyway. [KORRA LIKES PLACES TO START] So how do we find this ghost?

[assiduous]

I'm working on it. [ THIS ORB THING IS ANNOYING ]

Can't we just ask the orb? "Hey, does anyone know a ghost we can talk to"?

[assiduous]

That's what I'm doing— his name is Giles, he was turned... solid recently, but he didn't stay that way. I just don't know where we can find him, yet.

[ korra why else would he talk to strangers he hates strangers. ]

[streamlines]

Can you contact him directly through this thing?

[assiduous]

Maybe? He hasn't exactly called in and... well, if he's not solid, wouldn't he kind of have a hard time using it?

Surely he'd have a way to communicate somehow. Did you ask directly for him?
