Action: but you never tire of dreams
Characters: Any willing dreamers
Open? Yes
Where: In your minds
When: After the party
What: Part two of the dream plot!
Warnings:
The party went on, with the beast's head on display. A proud, twisted thing. Behind false ruby eyes, it waited. And as the music became slower and the wine less plentiful, it waited still.
Those who had gazed upon it at the ball. Those who had seen it once living in the forest. All heroes who dared to look upon its face and dream still that they would be able to live another day...
There are all sorts of ways of living. In waking. In sleep. Perhaps, now, they would find one in between.
(ooc: Feel free to keep tagging into the party post! Once your characters go home and go to sleep of their own accord, that is when the dreaming will begin. Remember, it is up to you to set up what kind of world your character is trapped in and how best to help them. Plotting post is here, make use of it!
The beast's power will wane once the bulk of the dreamers have escaped his curse. If your character was not at the party but you still want to involve them in the dream plot, that is fine! They can either help get people out or have seen the beast wandering in the woods before it was killed and have caught its attention that way.

'Like air, like air, your blows they fall
As long as you deny its hold,
Will you reach for that which you try to deny
Which screams and claws so bold...'

And those words. Screams and claws. He knows.
He knows. "No--no, I won't--I..." The transformation begins, not the swift, practiced one he holds now. Oh, no. This is rougher, more uneven. More painful. The way it used to be. Before he'd gotten it under anything remotely resembling control.
Somewhere in the background, he can hear Mayumi screaming and running away. The way she had before. The way she'd rejected him when she'd realized he was a monster.
A primal scream of rage cuts through the air as Gills stands there in all his glory, head thrown back and howling to the heavens.

'Come, oh child of rage!
Come into these arms of mine!
Together, let us fight!
Until the the end of Time!'

Gills gave another bellow as the claws on his wrists and heels began to lengthen and grow. He growled as he leaped into the air, brandishing his wrist claws as he tried to take Benu down to Earth with a stabbing punch. This was not an Unknown, but still worthy of fighting, oh, yes...
Pardon her, she's gonna just... be infuriatingly godmody since this kinda her element.
Perfectly understandable~
The thunder doesn't seem to bother him. He's far too wrapped up in there being an actual fight...but some small part of his brain is starting to become aware that there is something very, very dream-like about all of this...but there is still an enemy to best.

Too unnatural. He howls again, enraged by this, as his form changes once more. He grows an additional horn, and more spikes grow out along his body. Two red tentacles snake out from his shoulders to try one final time to ensnare this foe.

...and deep inside Ryo's brain, something stirred. Tear this world to shreds... The world. It wasn't real. None of this was real. A dream...?
He woke up in a cold sweat, breathing as though he really had been fighting that hard on some strange thorn-covered beach. The sheets of the bed he was making temporary use of in the castle were tangled all around him, but that didn't matter, not at first. He had to look at his hands, make sure they were human, make sure the power hadn't eaten away at them as it used to...but no. He was fine. It had been just a dream...or had it?
