1st of Rebirth's Decline - Orb 2
[Rapunzel was shown on the orb, within her hand was the Glass of Far Sight, although she had yes to actually use it, or at least use it well enough to figure out how to exactly work it. Moving it up closer to her, she closed one eye, keeping the other open and trying to get a closer look.]
I think this might be broken. I tried using it to look at something and...it showed me someone asleep. That wasn't what I was trying to see.
[She moves it away from her face and goes and puts it in the shoes she never wears... at least they have some use now.]
Also, does anyone actually know what went on with the forest yesterday? I went there myself, but I still don't understand what happened.

Well, um, I suppose they aren't terribly common in my world, either. I've just, um, heard there's one wandering about that I'd very much like to speak with.

[...a beat, and then a sigh, and Giles changes the subject.]
As for your, um, other question...I'm still not entirely certain what happened last night. Whatever it was, I think I must have missed the worst of it.

I think I missed the worst of it, but it was still rather terrifying.

I do know that, from now on, I'm going to pay a bit more mind when the townspeople barricade the doors at night. That, um, might not actually stop me going to investigate the mysterious forest...but, well, at least I'll be a bit more cautious about it.
[But, then again, Giles is well aware that he's not entirely sensible about such things as mysterious dark forests hiding mysterious and monstrous things.]

[She pauses, she was unsure, but she was sure that they expected the heroes to come and protect them from this forest as well as the thorns, so she wondered now how hiding would be helping.]

...the thorns protect us, as well as threaten. I, um, I think I only just realized that, last night. That...might be something to think about, if nothing else.
Some of us - the, um, the newer arrivals, like myself - were discussing making a trip out to where the thorns are supposed to be, when they're not guarding the forest.

I hope that when you visit the thorns that you are able to find something out.

He can certainly sympathize, at the least.]
Thank you. We'll, we'll probably need all the well wishes we can get.
In turn, I, um, I hope things stay a bit quieter around here. Especially while we're away.
