The hell would a wolf want to eat a human for when there's deer around? Humans are meat eaters. Means their own meat is no where near as something that just eats plans. Don't fuck with a wolf's pack and they'll leave your ass alone.

[ A small pause. ]

I knew a werewolf. Hers was a curse.

[[a single 'hrmp' of a laugh]] Yeah, different werewolves.

[ She is silent for a moment, ruminating about her current situation. A man with the spirit of a wolf is talking to her. He had yet to make a move of aggression. He was still at a distance enough that she could flee if he did have bad intentions.

She scuffs at the soft earth, a happy medium between her attention on Hawk and on the sought after tuber. ]

Tell me about your werewolves? Your world?

[[He shrugs]] They're people who are wolves. Or wolves that are people. Basically the same thing. They act like they've been living in the mountains their whole lives, most of them, probably because of all the Alliance shit. [[a dark scowl]]

[[and he never knows how to talk about "his world." The hell did you explain normal life to people who never lived it? And what the hell counted as normal anyway? The regular world pre Aralu or the insane fucked up crap that was post Aralu?]]

What is "the Alliance"?

[[He pauses, blinking before a rare smile actually tugs at his lips]] No, that's all right. You dug it, you won it.

They exist to protect the Others and the humans from each other, yes?

[ Concealing one's Otherness was something that happened everyday in Tyrol. She understands that purpose, if that was what the Alliance stood for.

One cloven hoof anchoring the vegetable to the ground, she dips her head just long enough to nip off a small piece. She doesn't think it smart to trust Hawk completely, but she is ready to nom and he hasn't given her any legitimate reason to flee. ]

[ Another bite and another round of reflective chewing before she responds. ]

There was something like that, in Tyrol. The Vanjalists of the Golden Hour. They offered shelter to Others in exchange for the right to study them.
