[ Far from the calamities of spinning wheels and sleeping prince(sses), there's a unicorn foraging in the Two-Faced Forest. The bag Kori had gifted her hangs loosely around her neck.

[[if someone had suggested that Hawk was looking in the woods for his drunkard mother, he would deny it. But that was exactly what he was doing under the guise of looking for wood to use for a dagger. Or something.

...hadn't expected to see a horse there. Though he should have expected the horn. He had been the one bitching about the world running on unicorn farts after all...

He goes still, watching it for a while, idly wondering if unicorns would react just a badly to him as regular horses.]]

[[Hawk was always armed, just with a dagger that was well hidden. But it'd be pretty stupid to pull it out on something just standing there that he couldn't eat.

At least he assumed you wouldn't eat a damned unicorn. Probably had glitter running through its veins or some crap like that.

Well, it hadn't bolted or reared, that was a good start. Between that whole "wolf spirit" bullshit, the so called "blessing" of the werewolf god and his son the werewolf, there was enough wolf smell or aura or whatever to send most horses into a panic that took way too long to calm down.

So now what. Staring a horned horse wasn't exactly productive. Or interesting. And it wasn't like his drunk ass mother was a virgin that this thing could help him find.

Yep. Staring a horse.]]

[[... unicorns can talk. All right, he'd seen weirder things, whatever.]]

You didn't run.

[[and you're a fucking unicorn.]]

Most horses want to kick me in the face and get the hell away from me so I kinda figured that'd carry over, horn or no horn.

[personal profile] wheresmycoffee 2012-04-16 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Like I know shit about unicorns. You guys don't e-- [[a pause. Werewolves. Vampires. Talking shadows. Shape shifters. Why the hell not unicorns too?]] If you guys exist back home I never saw any of you. [[shrugs]]

[personal profile] wheresmycoffee 2012-04-16 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hawk.

And all you mystical types do. [[shrugs]] Still saw far more than I ever wanted to with all that bullshit.

[personal profile] wheresmycoffee 2012-04-16 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Batman. [[Deadpan sarcasm]] Or Wolfman. "The wolf who walks like a man" if you listen to crazy ass werewolves. [[half sighs]]

As I realize I got the title wrong, but then realize Hawk doesn't care and would fuck it up :D

[personal profile] wheresmycoffee 2012-04-16 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. Always a man. But somehow, I apparently have more of a wolf's spirit or some bullshit than werewolves. [[a shrug]] Don't ask me what any of it means.

Of course they are. [[said in the tone that implied that people who were afraid of them were idiots. Because they were.]]
brosif: (I smell something to kill)

Is prose okay?

[How is Sif here and at the palace? Don't worry about it, look over there.]

She’s never hunted a unicorn. Not for any moral obligations, but for the simple fact that they are a difficult beast to find and an unimpressive kill to make. So she is curious, to say the very least, when she comes across the creature so openly in the wild.

“I didn’t know we had any of you,” she murmers.
brosif: (questing with mine homies)

[personal profile] brosif 2012-04-16 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
“I wonder about your horn,” she says, honestly. “The same way that I might wonder about the feathers and teeth and claws of other impossible creatures.”
brosif: (the goddess of war)

“I’ve heard that ground up, it can cure a variety of ailments.” Her own hand is splintered, healing from a fracture. She shrugs.

“Then again, I’ve heard my own bones will do the same. And that I make wheat grow and keep watch over the hearth. All stories by people who do not live long.”
brosif: (the lady sif)

"And you do not seem to speak only with virgins," Sif said, moving in a bit closer. Curiosity overrode caution. "Unless I have gone a thousand years back in time without realizing it."
