Day Change: the 11th of Rebirth's Height
Today is the 11th day of the Height of the Season of Rebirth in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell.
The town has finally recovered from the Height Moon booze fest and the day of Hangovers that followed. Stores are open and things are progressing as if the day of Hangovers was just a regular day off.
The rumor letter is filling most of the bulletin board today with a detailed list of who danced with whom at the festival. Heroes may notice that their names (or descriptions) and titles (funny how they know what role every person is, even if they haven't a clue what name they go by) are listed dancing with various young men and women they may have never seen in their lives. Even those who were nowhere near the celebration! If questioned at all, you're likely to get a very angry reply asking why you think those poor girls/boys would need to lie about that sort of thing, shame on you for that!
The longest list of names is by the White Prince, who seems to have danced with half the town! The list is quickly defaced, however, names crossed out, insults scrawled by the girls who know how to write and not just read. There will be quite a few arguments in front of that board by girls with white bracelets over who he wanted to dance with most and who he was just dancing with out of pity. Team Black seems to have taken a blow after the blacksmith was seen various places in full human form under the full moon. Rumors have changed to him now being the Lord of the Wolves after one girl reported seeing him hunting with a whole pack of them in the forest.
Speaking of the forest, the abandoned shack on the edge of the Two Faced Forest was seen emitting a foul smelling smoke and casting deformed shadows as unearthly workings of black magic were no doubt preformed by an unknown demon who shouted curses at the curious children who went to investigate it.
There's also a very hush hush rumor that one of the heroes that the Kingdom had so graciously stolen from their home world and burdened with an improbable task and expectations is renouncing his role and title! Of course, no one's quite sure who it is (just so many details that one can remember when they're trying to overhear an orb conversation, after all!) so all heroes can expect a bit of side eying or out and out "Some people ought to be grateful!" fist shaking without explanation whatsoever.
Suspiciously absent on the rumor board is the names of who was crowned Prince and Princess of the Moon of Rebirth. It's with utter embarrassment that the town council will admit that they all got too drunk to remember to actually hold a vote! This was far more simple when the True Prince actually showed up and just chose a girl, they will continue on. Why, with all this flood of imported royalty, it's just too much trouble. Best to just wait until the True Prince comes back, hrmm?
And of course, being the sane, logical, realistic people that they are, the towns people greeted that answer with the proper level of acceptance. That is to say that they attempted to mob the poor sod who had delivered that message and screamed at him. Expect a "covert" operation of various townies trying to get their favorite royalty given the cherished spot by annoying the hell out of them to go to the council and give them what for! (Mob rule is the tradition, after all!)
