[ See Loki. See Loki in a nature-esque background that's fairly rocky, a bit hilly, but also very generic. Could be anywhere. Could totally be a place that is not on a mountainside where one would go and seek some dragons.

See Loki's horse, dappled and dark and very skittish, at the moment. He cuts a regal figure on her, straight-backed, strong; he handles her skittish movement with an easy hand. ]

My brother -- Thor -- has arrived. I suppose you will greet him, Sif, if you have not already. To you, and to the rest who fancy themselves heroes: know that I will be watching your moves with great interest.

But I no longer count myself among you.

[ This is the closest Loki will get, at this moment, to a declaration of villainy.

[There in genuine confusion in her voice, as there has so often been in their interactions over the past three days.]

In what way am I speaking to you? Honestly?

As though I owe you anything.

It's no different than how you have spoken to me since I arrived.

I am aware of that.

It would have been easier to leave me behind. There would be one less person in the world who vexes you so.

I cannot stay with him, Sif. I will never have peace, not until he is dead.

[brosif]

You are smarter than this. Killing Thor would leave you no peace -- only continued bitterness, and nothing to aim it at.

[sorcerous]

And leaving him alive? That will take the bitterness away?

[brosif]

I believe nothing but time will take away what rests so firmly in your own heart.

Take your time. Take all the time, all the space you need. You don't have to count yourself among those trapped here. You don't have to hold company with your brother. But you needn't move against him, either.

A trait you never minded when it came to Thor!

Thor wasn't setting out to kill his own brother! If you can reign your childishness in to boasts and tantrums, I can seek not to mind it.

[sorcerous]

Boasts and tantrums and genocide.

[She sits firmly, not breaking her gaze, not responding to the – yes, childish — threat.]

You do not believe that any action taken against your brother will truly be successful.

[sorcerous]

[ And only those who know Loki the very best could see the expression that flicks across his face, almost too fast to see.

Of course he doesn't think it will be successful.

He never believed it would be, not truly. Not even when the Bifrost was ripping Jotunnheim apart. When Thor won, Loki greeted it with a sense of -- not relief, perhaps but a sense of the inevitable. ]

Fate will fall where it will.

[brosif]

You make yourself sound powerless. [In that moment, in that look –- how did he let himself become so weak? -- she hates him. The moment passes as soon as it comes, but she does not feel guilty for it. Only angry. Furious, that he would let himself be led along, hurting others for lack of anything else to feel.]

Thor could not kill you. You know that. But I could. If I had to, if you put me in that position. Do not put me in that position.
