I am Sir Alanna, of Pirate’s Swoop and Olau. Although my guests have assured me they haven’t the slightest idea of where either of those or even Tortall is.

I know his Majesty the King is in charge here, but I’m more interested in our fighting population. [ She says ‘our’ not to claim it as hers, but to emphasize that she intends to be a part of it. ] How are you organized? More importantly, when and where do you train together?

I'm going to scout out the thorns later today. I should be back in a few days, then I'll start training for myself and some of the others.

When I get back, and when I have time, I'll take you to the armory an we'll see if they have something you can use. Do we have a deal, Gretel?
