Day Change: the 8th of Rebirth's Height
Today is the 8th day of the Height of the Season of Rebirth in the 137th Year Since the Wall Fell. The 8 was stuck on upside down, and someone drew legs on it and gave it a smiley face. Dang kids.
It's desperation time for those who haven't gotten a date for the Height Moon celebration. Heroes of both genders will be repeatedly accosted by increasingly more and more desperate singles as well as a few well meaning aunts and grandmothers who just want the best for their little Gretchen or Tristan. The woods look very inviting today, don't you think so, heroes?
The town gossip has dished up a gory account of what befell the poor heroes up top the beanstalk that didn't get a single detail right. Ah, what passes for news in these times... Most of the local girls, however, have flocked to the site, having heard about the amazing skin powder that feel from the heavens. Large chunks of it are already for sale in stores, as are cheep knock off versions. Rumor has that someone's having a dress made matching the pattern that they claim to have seen on the back of the giant compact.
"Is your daughter dating somebody you can't stand? I'll personally ruin any outing of theirs by following them around. Rates vary depending on weather and whether or not said person you can't stand is armed. Contact James. I'm the only person in this damn town with antlers."
The weather is forecasted to be sunny today, with some strong gusts of wind, leading to some light rain over night. It's a new guy doing the weather, so it just might be right!
