Gretel, whom had only arrived that morning and had ran into the most peculiar old man while exploring, sat on flat piece of land a ways from the town. In front of her was rather large plant, over four feet in height, closely resembling a bean stalk. She watched the stalk curiously as she played with her orb, tossing it between her hands and wondering if she should tell someone about the rapidly growing plant.

That's true. However, knights don't seem to be doing well at managing this thorny problem.

[looks at the beanstalk, snapping a leaf to inspect the sap]

You have nothing to fear from me, I should add. I'm Curufin. A wizard. [sounds a little like he's still getting used to introducing himself as such]

[halfwitch]

A wizard. Like a witch? [She pulled her knees close to her chest, debating on whether to introduce herself.] My name's Gretel.

[smiles]

Gretel, is it? [sniffs the broken leaf then flicks it away] And what role do you fill in the King's knightly and heroic army?

[halfwitch]

[She stiffens, jaw setting.] I'm not it, so it doesn't matter.

[craftycurvo]

[He takes a step back.] If I've caused any offence, I do apologise.

[halfwitch]

[She shrugs.] It's okay, I just don't like being called that thing.

I'll be sure to avoid it in future.

... is it just me, or is that plant slightly taller now than when I first arrived?

[halfwitch]

[She nods.] It's been growing really fast.
