As often he was, Kori was sitting in the impressive looking, but not quiet as impressively stocked library, his own personal library of huge leather bound tombs stacked around him. Because he'd been told that the Heroes might be coming to see him for information, he'd already summoned a large tray of breakfast treats of all sorts and had already powered through quite a few muffins already.

Kori nodded sagely. "The unseen have to be viewed carefully to avoid catching their attention and curses aren't the type of spell that are crafted with that sort of care," he mused, peering again, tone continuing to get more and more formal before he gave a grin. "Kori could probably fix it!" he chirped, voice utterly childish again. "Weave it so that it's not so loud when it looks! Then they can't tell that you can see them!" he bounced a little in his seat.

A small part of JW wanted to leap at that offer. To see normally again! How amazing would that be...but Kori was a stranger. And the same thing applied to strangers offering you candy and magical healing. Especially to the face. So many horrible ways it could end. "I-it's okay..."

He clapped a hand over the eye. Out of sight, out of mind, right?

"Think you could point me towards a spellbook or two? I'm a beginner."

Kori nodded, putting aside his pout at not being able to do the spell and reaching up into thin air to pluck out a heavy, leather bound book with the generic title "Spells" on the cover in faded gold leaf.

James froze when the book appeared. Okay that was kind of scary. He reached out nervously to accept the old book. It said SPELLS on it. Well. That was nice and straight-forward, he guessed. "Large print?" He flipped it open curiously, hoping it was at least in a language he could read.

Kori blinked.

Well, JW was in luck about the language part as it read as English for him, but it wasn't exactly large print, nor was it easily accessible. It read like an old textbook you might find gathering dust in the storage room of an old school building. Decades out of date and written for a far more academic mind.

JW flipped through the brittle old pages and a slow frown grew on his face. He was going to have to find some glasses or something. Forgetting Kori and the muffins for a moment, he turned to sit on a nearby table, flipping through the book for something. Much like a child searching for the swear words in a Spanish-English dictionary, JW was hunting for some spell that could be used for selfish reasons.
