As often he was, Kori was sitting in the impressive looking, but not quiet as impressively stocked library, his own personal library of huge leather bound tombs stacked around him. Because he'd been told that the Heroes might be coming to see him for information, he'd already summoned a large tray of breakfast treats of all sorts and had already powered through quite a few muffins already.

Kori shot him a dirty look, turning his nose up. "It's not a fort." The haughty tone was ruined by him taking a big bite out of his muffin.

"It must be a castle, then," Fakir said, plucking one of the topmost books up.

"Leave Kori's book alone!" The boy half whined, reaching out to grab it back.

Well. That tone seemed familiar, but Fakir couldn't precisely place where from. He let the book fall into Kori's grubby little hands. It wasn't worth the whining.

"They do let people stay in the castle, you know," he said. "You don't have to camp out here."

"Not camping! Kori studies here!" the boy pouted, arms crossing. "Kori lives in the White Mage Tower," he scoffed, turning up his nose.

Of course he lived in a tower. Hopefully he wasn't another boy princess. Fakir had had quite enough of that confusing situation.

"How old is Kori, exactly?"

"14."

Not that he especially looked it. Or acted it.

Fakir frowned a little. Well, at least his development was in line with living in a tower. He'd always wondered why Rapunzel didn't turn out a little off.

"I suppose you're studying magic, then?" He hadn't seen many wizards here yet, especially not tiny, stupid ones.

"Of course!" There was that stuffy tone again. "Kori always studies magic! Because you don't always study and practice, you will lose your skill be become just another pathetic wizard reading from a book." There was the air of quotation to that one as he turned up his nose.
