orb 7 | GHH 17
[Somewhat dirty, a little worse for the wear, Peeta looks into the orb, face drawn with anxiety. The background is smudgy and dark, possibly a cave or a tunnel of some sort. There's a smudge of dirt on his right cheekbone. When he speaks, it's hushed and nervous.]
This is becoming a pattern, isn't it. I'm sorry for contributing to that.
[He glances over his shoulder, then back at the orb.]
I'm in the mountains. I'm not sure where exactly, but I was trying to get blueberries when--
[The background lights up in a spray of orange and Peeta ducks, covering his arm with his head. Once it passes, he looks back up and continues, in a rushed half-whisper.]
I think I've been kidnapped by a dragon. There's no way I'm getting out of this by myself, so...if you can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

I need you to stay calm. Focus for me, and describe anything you can think of that might help me find you. Like what that light was.
[She glances off to the side.]
You were outside of the city when you were taken? Where?
no subject
It's fire--there's two of them, at least, and they've been breathing it at each other for a while now. I think they might be fighting over me. [As strange as the thought is--and why him? Surely, there's other prey to be found somewhere.
He looks over his shoulder again.]
I didn't realize I'd gone so far. I was just following blueberry bushes along the riverbank when something grabbed me and flew away. I think we're north of the river.
no subject
[Because that is something she is not exactly prepared for.]
North of the River. We can check with the villagers in the foothills. Maybe they saw something. I've spoken with them before, they know the mountains better than I do, at least.
[She closes her eyes and takes a slow breath.]
You don't have any food or water, do you?
no subject
[He listens--gives a nod. He's never met the villagers in the foothills, but he's never been this far outside of the kingdom, either.]
I still have some blueberries. [He laughs a little, pulling out a handful from his pocket.]
no subject
Right. Well, try to make them last. I'm leaving in five...ten minutes. I'm coming straight for you, but it may take a little time.
no subject
[He knows how to make food last. Not as well as Katniss does, but even the upper class in District Twelve weren't well-fed.
Firmly, and with genuine gratitude, he speaks.]
Thank you.

[Not that she hasn't sent people into danger, or been responsible for the death of people under her, but damn it, it was for a reason.]
no subject
[Because if you're planning on going somewhere and turning into a crazed bug-man and attacking a dragon with your tentacles, this is important information to have.]
