[The video feed opens to show what appears to be a back corner of a tavern that is likely not the most reputable establishment in this or any other world. Judging by the sound of the surrounding noise, there's a fight going on elsewhere in the tavern. Ryo's sitting at a table in that back corner, and he doesn't really seem to care about the noise.]

So, that sword stuck in the stone...did anyone actually--

[Whatever Ryo was about to ask is cut off by a drunken brawl raucously crashing across his table. He should probably think about going somewhere nicer in the future. Before he can do anything other than look a bit ticked off, one of the men who slammed into the table drunkenly rolls to his feet.]

Hey! Hey! It's one 'o them heroes what's supposed t' be stoppin' them thorns!

[The guy's clearly had too many drinks to be thinking straight. He's now giving Ryo an aggressive prod to the chest.]

But he's just sittin' here on his bum like the rest 'o us! Huh? You got somethin' t' say t' that, hero boy?

[Good job, random townsperson. Of all the heroes you could have chosen to tick off, you've irritated the guy this place has pegged as a berserker. Ryo wastes no time in letting the drunk guy have it with a punch to the face, and now the drunk guy's equally drunk friends are a little upset. Looks like this could turn nasty, and Ryo has forgotten that he's got an audience on the Orb.]

[Ryo's looking around the area a little warily as he hops off of the table.]

How bad's the damage?

Bakura turned to survey the wreckage. "... not as bad as it could have been... It doesn't look like anyone was too badly hurt!"

[somewhatpointy]

That's...good, I suppose. Even if they were asking for it.

[But hey, at least he hadn't stabbed anyone. That was always a pleasant surprise when Gills was involved.]

[[a faint smile]]

Better to just knock them around than do any real damage, right?

[[far easier to do clean up after that way...]]

Probably.

[He's kind of nudging one of the unconscious people on the floor with one of his feet.]

Cuts down on the number of doctors we'd need in here...

If they only existed...

[[speaking, time to check all the KOed drunks to see if they're in need of healing. Sigh.]]

[He's just kind of watching because he's no help at all with that.]

I've got to wonder how they've even survived this long.

[shiromadoushi]

Magic.

[[It's not even sarcasm as he lifts a hand to waft a soft white healing spell over the downed man]]

[He's seen this sort of thing done before. Been saved by it a few times back home, too.]

Have you always been able to do that sort of thing? Has it ever given you problems?

[A valid question, given what it might cause back home...the human mind wasn't always equipped to deal with power. And sometimes, that power wouldn't manifest properly. Then you'd get stuck with a creature like him.]

[shiromadoushi]

[[Shakes his head]] The last place I was at before here I got it. And it's mostly only a problem when I use it too much. [[a small rueful smile at that]] And sometimes it's a little tricky coming back if it's a big thing I'm healing.

[somewhatpointy]

[He nods in understanding.]

I've seen someone bring a guy back from the dead using stuff like that...she burned herself out. Used too much power--she can't do it anymore.

[He's more than seen it used He was the dead guy in question.]

[shiromadoushi]

[[and he pauses]] I don't think I could do that with mine... The one time I tried...

[[and he trails off, looking to the side.]]

[somewhatpointy]

[Ryo can figure out where that's going real fast. Not everyone gets as lucky in dealing with death as he did.]

...sorry to hear that.

[shiromadoushi]

[[shakes his head]] It's all right. And the way I heal is different anyway. Sort of like feeding the body the energy it needs to fix itself really fast. If the body's stopped... [[his voice faltered just a touch.]] There's nothing really to speed up....

[somewhatpointy]

Yeah, that's when things get complicated...

[There's a headshake of his own.]

Far too complicated.

[shiromadoushi]

Yeah...

[[looks over]] How are you feeling, by the way?

[[Since you did kinda turn into a giant bug monster and all.]]

[somewhatpointy]

I'm fine.

[Really, he looks pretty good for a guy who just single-handedly cleared out a bar.]

Becoming Gills doesn't do a number on my body like it used to.

[Amazing what coming back from the dead can cure. And at least he's confirmed that yes, this is a perfectly normal thing for him.]

Just a number on your surroundings? [[it was lightly joking, but not unkindly meant.]]

[somewhatpointy]

[Ryo has to crack a smile at that.]

Yeah, pretty much. Usually the guys I'm fighting, too, but I've been working on holding back.

[Which is hard when you're a giant bug monster that hates everything.]

Might be better to try out fighting in the forest, ne? So you can cut loose.

[somewhatpointy]

I should probably spend a bit more time out there...it's safer. Fewer chances of some idiot starting something.

[He scowls a little bit. This fight so wasn't his fault.]

[shiromadoushi]

[[a small nod]] Good to get the fresh air, right? [[aka, away from the idiots. But wouldn't say that when people were around to hear. He was the nice one, after all.]]

Here, let's get out of here so they can start cleaning up.

[somewhatpointy]

Yeah, nothing quite like it. You can really cut loose out there.

[Even back home, he'd started wandering everywhere once the trouble with the Unknown had passed.]

That's probably a good idea.

[Because no, he is not interested in cleaning up his mess, thank you very much.]

[[Is anyone?

Time to carefully step over a broken chair and head outside.]]

Next time they start being too annoying, just let me know, okay? And I'll come take care of things again. After you get a few hits in, of course.

[[he made sure that last part was in Japanese, just in case of prying ears]]

[He's following Bakura outside because that seems like a good idea. He has to smirk at that last bit in Japanese.]
