First Spell :: [Orb]
[The sun is setting, so now is the only time he feels comfortable wearing his hood down. Shi’n also doesn’t feel obligated to hide himself, as the residents of this place didn’t seem all that fazed when they had seen him. Stupid humans had probably never heard of a drow before.]
You that are already here, from other places. [He crosses his arms with a huff.] What is the purpose in being here?
[He’s not really asking. He’s demanding. And unless the viewer is familiar with the reputation of his race, he doesn’t look very intimidating. It probably has to do with the fact that he’s barely five foot and magic user instead of a fighter.]
I am waiting.

The book you read? It brought you here to stop some thorns. Which are, in the order I learned it, possibly man-eating, resistant to fire, ill-tempered, capable of extraordinarily fast growth, not terribly reactive to local magics, and possibly rude, though the girl who told me they like to call your mother names had never actually seen them herself.
In short, whatever our purpose is, I doubt it's what the local...townsfolk...believe it to be. They're not always on top of the game.

Useless humans most likely brought these 'thorns' onto themselves. The ones here are not particularly intelligent.
Is there a way to return back to our proper places, then?

[She snorts.]
So far as returning, Sugar, if I knew how that was to be accomplished, I'd hardly still be here. Supposedly, removing the thorns will end the spell that has us locked here, but it's not terribly predictable. Folk vanish sometimes, like the damn thing broke. But never all of us, clearly.
They say there are dragons in the mountains, God knows what they can do, but I can't said I'm terrible eager to find out. The only other Kingdom lies 'across the sea' and ain't a soul here knows a thing about it, making it a stretch to hope they might be of use.
In short, we're pretty much screwed.

I will take a look at these 'thorns', then. Something vital may have been missed.
[If he hadn't dealt with attitude filled and condescending women all of his life he might have had the idea of being offended at her tone. But oh well.]
[And that last part certainly gets his interest.]
There are dragons, you say? What color are they? [This is totally relevant.] They may be more helpful than one might realize.

[This said with a straight face.]
No idea on the dragons, though. Like I said, ain't terribly interested in finding out.

My name is not "Sugar". [And it's starting to get annoying. :l] It is Shi'ndrin.
Then I will go and see them for myself.
[Just a bunch of dragons. No biggie.]

Honey.
[He did start off rather demanding. And Selene isn't really a tame wolf to begin with.]
The local peasants seem to believe there are two. Sisters, they say, who are feuding rather fiercely over something or another. Never caught what the trouble is, of course.

Are mean thorns. Must kill thorns.
no subject
What thorns? [Because he hasn't seen any. Granted, he hasn't investigated very far. Or listened to half of what people tried to tell him. Whoops.]

[STUNNING LOGIC]

Are moving. Getting closer. Bad thorns! Bad!
no subject
And the humans here are unable to save themselves from destruction. I am not surprised. [Unimpressed Shi'n is unimpressed.]
Dare I ask you to be more specific on how these thorns are "bad"?

Are bad!
