Because we all love backdating, right? PARTY!
Characters: Peeta and the heroes and various NPCs.
Open? YES!
Where: At the Heroes' Headquarters!
When: GHB 5, starting in the mid-afternoon and continuing into the evening
What: Peeta just wanted to hold a small soiree, but then the villagers learned where it was going to be.
Warnings: None
The mansion was filled with the smells of fresh bakery and fragrant teas, honey wine, and a variety of savory foods. Peeta'd been baking for days, pulling out as many different kinds of confections from his memory as he could, including a few new things suggested by the locals. There was a table loaded with them in the ballroom--sugar cookies decorated with lemon icing flowers, small chocolate cakes dusted with powdered sugar and filled with melted chocolate sauce, orange and berry muffins garnished with zest, small cups layered with lavender and chocolate mousse and topped with lavender-infused whipped cream, the ever-popular and familiar sweet buns, and of course, the cakes.
One was white, flavored with vanilla and decorated in flowers. The other was chocolate, decorated with swirling leaves. They were in the center of the table, surrounded by piles of little chilled cream puffs and an array of fresh berries.
There was another table nearby filled with Bakura's creations--none of which were familiar to Peeta, but they all looked and smelled delicious. Closer to the kitchen was an array of stews, sauces, meats, roasts, cheeses, breads--including a few of Peeta's loaves and a tray of cheese buns--mostly supplied by the guests. He hadn't been prepared for the numbers that showed up, but the numbers seemed to have brought enough food to take care of the increase.
He would stay near the kitchen for the duration of the party, though, and handle any questions or issues that came up, barring the dirty looks he was getting for his choice of dress--brown and simply-cut, with a white apron around his waist.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE: Peeta's cooking is the conduit for his princess power. Anything he's made is infused with good will, comfort, and peace, and so eating any of his food will make the eater feel warm, fuzzy, content and safe.
There's a similar effect caused by being around Peeta, but it's not as strong as eating his food.

"Hello, darling. What have you there?"
no subject
"Hello Selene. I hope you're enjoying yourself. I have two teas here, an herbal and a black tea that's traditional in my world."
no subject
"You haven't been shepherding the tea all night, sugar, have you?"
no subject
"I couldn't possibly leave it. The moment I turn my back someone starts a bad batch!"
no subject
"Well, that simply will not do. This is a party, my dear. We shall simply have to suffer a poorly brewed tea." She wiggled her fingers. "You are going to enjoy yourself for at least a few minutes."
no subject
"I am enjoying myself already, though."

"Did Peeta make all of this himself?" She had known the boy was a baker, but this was an awful lot for one person.
no subject
"It's not much more than I do for the bakery, and I'd already made the cakes."
no subject
"You've done a wonderful job."
no subject
"Do you like creme fillings?" She lifted a pastry and offered it to Tatra.
no subject
"I do," she confirmed, a smile back on her face as she accepted the pastry gracefully and took a bite.
no subject
"Well? I haven't tried one yet. What do you think? Worth it?"
no subject
"Oh, they're delightful!" She practically chirped her approval. "Really, you must try them."
no subject
"This is good."

"Would you like some, Faolan?"

He brightened. "Is good!"

"Oh good! I'm so glad you like it."
sorry for the ridiculous lateness
Really, he had. He didn't have any interest in a dance or a party, not here. Any party on this world was going to be much too quiet for his tastes.
But when five different village girls latched onto five different parts of his body and refused to be shaken off, Kay didn't have a lot of choice but to be dragged to the Hero's Headquarters. He didn't actually want to hurt them, but it seemed like nothing short of physical force would work.
So that was why Kay was pushed and pulled through the door, surrounded by titterng teenagers.
Sorry, he mouthed at the first person he saw.

"Hey, kid," he said, not nearly as displeased as he sounded. He ruffled Faolan's hair roughly (the jury was out on whether it was a noogie or not). "Should've known you'd be here."
no subject
"Am here!" he agreed. "Had tea!"

Then he turned to face the other man, voice familiar but barely--he couldn't place it. Still, he held out his hand. "I'm Peeta--I did the baking. I can cut you some cake if you want."

It was gone in an instant, as Kay held out his free hand to shake Peeta's. "I'm Kay. You did it all yourself?" It was an impressive amount of food.
no subject
He shrugged, and followed to glance over the spread of baked goods. "Yeah, I did everything baked...I'd already made the cakes, and the rest of it only took a few days."
