NOTES I'll be setting up subthreads for the ice maze, the guardians outside the tower, and the stairs inside the tower. The group will start out all together in the ice maze and then be separated into two, I believe. The groups are (correct me if I'm wrong) Cho, Sif and Faolan, and Giles, Helios, Kay and Bakura. It's not too late to participate! If you would like to, hit up the plurk linked in the below paragraph.

The general sequence of events can pretty much be assumed to be: they get through the ice maze, they get through the guardians, they get up the stairs. If anyone would in particular like your group to be the winner, that's cool with me, go ahead and jump in here, otherwise it'll just be whoever manages to RP to that part first.

"No." Her voice sounds loud in her own ears, loud and far away. The magic is smarter than most people realize. She can only push it so far. No threat, and now it's focusing on what's important, which is keeping its host alive. It doesn't care that the tower is still swaying precariously, that it's about to come down around them.

She turns to Sif, grabs the woman's arm. Her body is well below the point of freezing and it will burn exposed skin. "Get. Faolan. Out." Because she's not going to be able to. She can't look after him, and she needs to know that Sif will, that she will put aside this rage they're both feeling and grab the pup and run. "Please."

It takes everything she has to hold on long enough for a confirmation, for the promise that Sif will make sure he gets out safely. And then she crumbles, body collapsing like a puppet with cut strings. The tower could come down on top of her and the magic will be able to fix her, as long as it keeps her mind alive. It doesn't give a damn what she wants.

Loki flinches forward, for a moment a hint of anguish crossing his features. And he schools himself back to cold, to anger, to the visage of the dark sorcerer.

He can feel the cold radiating from her, and he steps around Faolan, crouches, and takes Cho into his arms. His skin dissolves in the process, turning dark blue, his eyes burning red. With the strength of the Jotunn, perhaps he can take her back to the town.

"Faolan," he says, settling Cho's light weight against his chest. "Come."

Still unsure, but knowing that Loki is daddy and thus completely trustworthy, Faolan lowers his paws back to the floor and turns to follow.

"Training?" Kay repeats, sparing a moment to stare at Loki. "You mean you were fucking with us?" His teeth were bared, his voice little more than a growl.

"Asshole." It was a curse and a threat.

Bakura gave a startled exclamation as Cho collapsed, reaching out before Loki caught her.

He had the strongest feeling like there was something he was missing here...

But he didn't have time to focus on that right now.

"Now's not the time for this!" he reminded Kay sharply. "Once we're on the ground!"

Kay growled again. "I know, I know!" Dammit, if Sansa wasn't climbing on willingly, he was this close to tucking her under one arm and hauling her out himself. One way or another, he was going to get her out of the tower -- since he guessed that he was the fastest runner out of the current group, he felt it fell to him.

Sif can't help but cry out, as Cho's fingertips graze her arm. The burn is immediate. She ignores it, and instead nods her head.

“You have my word.”

With the tower crumbling around them, she doesn’t trust Faolan’s feet, swift as they are. If he allows it, she will put him back in her bag, as they flee.

“Bakura is right. Punishments will be sorted -- thoroughly -- when we are out of this place.”

She does not address Loki. Nor Sansa. Only exits the room, eyes out for the clearest path.

Hooray! Faolan is being carried. He snuggles in, making sure that he won't be a burden to Sif. Sif has to be tired as well, even if her legs are the right length for the stairs. She did all the fighting.
