[Orb] 1st Great Heat's Beginning. Midmorning.

[A new face in the orb. Hair falls into her face, and she pushes it back, lowering the orb, and showing the top of a light, blue dress. Behind her, some might recognize a side room in the castle. She presses her lips together, and then looks into the Orb.]

Well. What a fine place to find myself, isn't it? I ain't been inside a castle for a long time, and now I get to live in one. Can't really complain about that, now, can I?

[The hint of a smile touches her lips, and she glances off to the side.]

The older gentleman who greeted me had quite a story about the state of things, and the others brought in to do something about it.

[Without hurry, her gaze settles back onto the orb.]

I'll have to admit, whatever I might have seen, I still ain't sure I'm really scared at the thought of a few weeds. How bad is it, really?

Mmmm. If all they do is natter, can't see it poses any real threat to that privacy. If not, well, I see no reason not to take a stand and put an end to that.

Besides, if they're all paying attention to us, can't be that hard to use them if it comes down to it. Especially at the King's dime.

[She offers a sly little smile.]

Since I've apparently inherited a fair portion of the kingdom's treasury.

A princess. Thankfully, due to our fame, people are quite willing to give us most things for free, but a bit of extra coin and a title always helps.

The dresses are bit much, but one must...suffer...such things in the name of the future.

[Yeah. She 'hates' those dresses...yeah...]

I believe there was another princess complaining about the fashion here. Perhaps she found something less... fluffy.

Fluff is a problem?

[She glanced down at herself.]

I mean, who doesn't like something slinky now and then, but...

If you like it, then you'll have no shortage of dresses around.

[A pause. Ah, yes, manners and information.]

What's your name? I'm trying to keep track of all the royalty around here.

Well, worst comes to worst, I'll just go about fixing a few of them myself.

[She giggles a little at that.]

But until that time comes...Selene. We on some sort of hit list?

[She grinned.]

Of course not. Just keeping a list of people I can hit up for money.

[Ginia grins. She's kidding... for the most part.]

Ginia. I'll try to remember that. I imagine I'll be meeting a lot of new people, so I apologize in advance for asking again. I know I will.

No need to apologize, it's understandable. As far as heroes go, there aren't too many of us. Maybe a hair over twenty.

That's not so many to remember, I suppose. I shall have to get started.

I heard something about dragons...? He wasn't serious, I hope.

There are dragons about. One woman arrived with three of them, then there are two dragons up in the mountains. Warring sisters as the rumor goes, though I'm not sure if anyone has actually seem them of late.

Three of them?

They aren't terribly dangerous, are they? Did they let them stay in the city?

Dangerous? No, I don't believe so, I haven't heard of any trouble from them and they are young. As for where they're staying, I'm not sure where their owner is.

Familiar with dragons?

Well...fair enough.

No, thank goodness. They're not native to the new world.

[shadedsunlight]

Not native... to imply they were brought in from another world, otherwise made, or you've simply heard of them from other sources? [or worlds.]

Oh, nothing like that. Where I'm from, the major landmasses in the Western Hemisphere are generally called the new world; rather arrogantly presupposing that the Europeans who claimed to have discovered it had greater value than the locals, but since most of the damn world speaks either English or Spanish, I suppose there's a kernel of painful truth in there.

I think there are seven or eight species. A couple European, one in Africa, all kinds all across Asia. Nothing in the Americas, though. I hear they are foul, nasty things prone to eating folk, at least they are back home.

[A world with dragons? There's something Helios would be interested in.] What about other sorts of creatures? Gryphons? Unicorns?

Extinct since the Napoleonic wars, and a complete myth, though people keep looking for both of them.
