Characters: Batman Ginia Solana and YOU. And you. And yes, you too.
Open? Yes!
Where: All around Schwanheim.
When: Evening of RD 13
What: Ginia is doing her part to keep the streets of Schwanheim safe. And testing out her new teleporting abilities.
Warnings: Maybe violence if someone wants to fight with her, otherwise, probably G/PG.
Compared to Davenport, the crime levels of Schwanheim is practically laughable. Your typical trouble-causing thugs, a few thieves making easy coin off the dull-minded villagers, and maybe a corrupt or at least loudly annoying nobleman or lady. When it came to patrolling the night for trouble, there was honestly little to be found.
It still doesn't stop Ginia from taking to the rooftops at night. It was relaxing being able to run about without the annoying hoards of gossip-seekers chasing her down (though apparently there were still enough gossipers active at night and tying up the thieves hadn't exactly been a subtle move) and there were plenty of shadows for her to test out her new ability on. Finding out she could teleport had been more of an accident, the sort of accident that involved falling through a wall and coming out a few feet away. After that, it was careful refinement, practice, and falling onto unsuspecting people at least once or twice. Having something akin to nightvision was also an added bonus.
Ginia perches on top of a tall building, a dark silhouette in the night with her armor on and mask up. She watches the street and the few people going to and fro. Similar to her first training exercise, she picks a person to follow and sneaks along on rooftop, moving as quietly as possible and leaping ahead through shadows. If they look toward her direction, she stealths, and if she runs out easy paths to follow or they enter a building, she gives up. and while it hasn't happened yet, if someone tries to give chase? Well, that would be a fun change for the night.
If she spots any bit of wrongdoing, she steps in, striking fast, knocking them out, and leaving them for the city authorities to find. That bit reminds her a little of home, a feeling that leaves her feeling nostalgic, sad, and sick.
When she's had enough fun for one night, she heads back to her new home, forsaking the front door in favor of shadow-stepping into the bedroom.
((ooc; TL;DR, feel free to catch Ginia at any point in the night. Be someone she stalks! Catch her as she takes down a criminal! Join her on the rooftop for a merry chase! As a warning, since she's trying to be secretive about things, Ginia won't be saying much at all. However, for anyone who has seen her in her armor, feel free to call her out on it.))

Still, it felt good to do something. Running, Liara simply jumped off the edge of the roof and slowed her fall with a mass effect field, dropping neatly into the alley the shadowed figure had turned into. The blue glow didn't vanish as she hit the ground and stood, prepared to try something new if the chase continued.

She sinks further into the alley, keeping as still as possible. The darkness is on her side; though everything is monochromatic, Ginia can see as clear as day. It's a dangerous game of hide and seek, but a fun one too. It's a taste of her old life, a dangerous taste, but one she missed. It was exciting staying one step ahead.

"I'm not with the guard or the king." She pushed her hood back, a little smile touching the corner of her mouth. The brought her into this world to use her as a pawn in their game; a tool of order. It was time she started making it clear her rules didn't match theirs. "Actually, I think I have something of a...proposal...for you."

"I don't think beating the thorns is going to be enough to send us home." She frowned, looking to the side, considering her words carefully. "There is more happening than those in power in this world wish to tell us. Perhaps they do not know themselves." She looked back at the figure. "Do you have a crystal? And do you know the old mansion, by the toll booth? Which the King recently gifted to those called into this world?" You know, Gin, the one whose grounds you two spent the day cleaning up?

At the questions, she gives two solid nods. Go on, get to the good part.

"It has a wonderful view of the castle." She looked the figure over. "They brought us here to fight their war. And they aren't even sure what that war is. I think it's time we start to change the rules." She waved a hand in the air. "Either in the Castle or the Monastery we are likely to find books that detail at least part of the process that was used to bring us here. Quite probably a great deal more than that. Things they do not want to share with us." She looked over her shoulder again.
"It's time to change that."

Ginia looks at Liara a little longer, wondering just how trustworthy she is. The Asari archaeologist was certainly a driven and determined one, that Ginia could admire. Willing to do something was also a nice bonus. She smiles from behind her mask and offers another nod before reaching up and removing her mask and cowl. Surprise, surprise.

She manages to control any surprise she might have felt upon seeing Ginia, instead offering something of a wry smile. "After working all day, why would we possibly think it a good idea to go running around all night?" Arms still crossed, she leaned back a bit, looking Ginia over again. "You certainly are good at...well. Keeping things quiet, aren't you?" Okay, now, a wince. That was a joke even Joker'd call a dud. And she's heard a lot of jokes from that man that were simply terrible over the years.
Still...trust, for trust. At least a little bit. "You should probably know I haven't worked as an archaeologist for years. I've been an information broker, in the pay of the Shadow Broker. Who is the best at what we do." And let's be honest; Liara knows it, too. "I've gotten into a habit of disliking knowing I don't know something important."
no subject
She listens to Liara's explanation, filing that bit of information away for later. Ginia respects information brokers, having been one before and having worked with many of them. They kept the world running in ways unknown to so many. In a way, they were the true puppet masters of the world. Pushing off from the wall, Ginia takes out her journal and charcoal and motions for Liara to follow to somewhere with a bit more light. There's the downside of being mute; night conversations are a bit of a bitch.
After finding a lantern hanging off a building, Ginia begins to write. Honesty earns some honesty in return.
I was a bounty hunter back in my world. I tracked people down and brought them in, but I also did all sorts of other jobs. Gathering information was my life. I dislike knowing I don't know something important as much as you.

"The castle...well. It's close. But I don't think there is much inside worth hunting down, honestly. I could be wrong." She waved a hand to say she wasn't terribly worried about that. "If I am, it's still right here. The Monastery has a better selection, and it isn't too far out of town. It might hold clues to other places we might look." She fixed Ginia with a stare. "I'm sure they'd be happy to let me in and look around, but I doubt I'd be able to walk away with anything that was actually important."
A smile, from within the hood. "Which means a bit of misdirection is probably going to be needed."

Ginia flips her mask and hood back up and nods in agreement at the idea, smiling herself.
I think this could be an agreeable arrangement.

She glanced at Ginia. "Think about it, but I think do not share that yet. Do you know very much about insurgent tactics?" She mad a motion in the air. "While weak, they turn weakness to advantage. The King wanted intelligent, capable heroes to fight his fight. Wonder what he'll do when he realizes he might have actually gotten what he asked for." She laughed a little at that.

I've brought down governments and corporations and put up new ones in their place. I know a thing or two.

"Start thinking about who you trust. We won't be able to do this all alone. I will...find you, in a few days, when I have a plan. I wouldn't mention this to anyone you don't want coming with us." She took a breath, and then looked at Ginia.
"If you could give me an overview of the guard's routes and rotations when we meet up again, I'd appreciate it."
no subject
Liara will have her routes and rotations the next time they meet. Until then? Smiling behind her mask, Ginia disappears out of sight.
