Characters: Shin and anyone asleep
Open? Yep!
Where: the Dreaming
When: Nighttime, RD12
What: Shin goes dream walking.
Warnings: Lots of capitalized Ds

Even in Dreams, Shin was restless. Without the normal background hum of hundreds of Dreamers, the Dreaming felt empty. Hollow.

Far to much like it had when his Dreaming had been sealed.

There were still the doors to the dreams of everyone who was asleep, even if so many of them seemed like cardboard cut outs... It was easy to spot the ones of those who weren't native of the world. They were more real, solid, and he could feel more clearly who was behind them. It was something he had noticed before, back home. The doors to fellow Dreamers were the more vibrant and real, and those who had strong powers were a close second. Idly he drifted through the insubstantial hallway, knocking on some to announce his presence, others just phasing into the dream and looking around. After all, it wasn't as if he expected most people to hear him knocking. They'd have to be aware for that, and he knew for a fact that there were no other Dreamers around and active dreamers were rare.

[[OoC: Feel free to notice Shin entering your characters dream, or to just set up a random dream for him to step into!

Edit: Also, since Shin power allows him to manipulate dreams, let me know if you don't want him to be able to with your character's dream, please!]]

Ginia looks over at the newcomer and offers a slight nod. Some part of her mind recognizes him as someone unfamiliar, but with how her memories have become, everyone is unfamiliar. Dreams are strange things full of strange people.

"My daughter," she says with motherly pride, but also with sadness.

"She's eight." Or was she seven? Or nine? She looks at the happy girl on the swings and tries to remember. "Her name is Tara."

"Because I'm afraid."

She looks at her daughter, a girl that only exists in dreams, a girl that may never be born, never live, or exist. It was so easy at one point to hope for some future where she could settle down with Giles, raise a family, live out her life in peace, but what future is there now for ghosts? For the dead?

"I'm afraid of what I might really see if I get closer."

Ginia is silent as she looks out at her daughter. Tara leaps off the swings, and despite having leaped off swings countless times in her own childhood, Ginia's heart stops for a moment as her daughter falls and lands safely on her feet. The girl smiles and waves before running off to play on the jungle gym.

"...I think it's best to keep things as they are right now. I've had enough disappointment in my life. Besides, look how happy she is."

"I find happiness to be an elusive sort of thing. Everyone else, maybe, not so much me."
shadedsunlight: (That was the turning point)

Ginia laughs again and looks away from Shin, her eyes tracking Tara as she races along a bridge connecting two towers.

"I suppose it's my lot in life. I made my choices, I'll live with them. I don't mind if everyone else is happy. I'm happy too if that's the case."
