[ His skin is blue and his eyes aglow with red; he has disregarded his glamour entirely. He has learned, now, that his Role has changed overnight, and that he will have to relearn all he once knew, as far as his sorcery mixes with this place.

There is a tightness to his tone, a firmness, a dignity and an urgency. Not the sharp-tongued princeling, at the moment. ]

We face destruction, lest we act. To me. I am [ address of an apartment, rooms that he has rented from a recalcitrant landlord for a week or so ]; respond, or come to me if you are willing.

[ His urgency is a bit hypocritical; after all, he delayed because of his own problems. Nonetheless: he can delay no longer. The Hero of the Mountains is here, and she must be killed. ]

[ Helios doesn't even do a double take when he sees Loki over the orb. He does, however, pause to listen to his words. It was strange seeing the other man with blue skin now because he certainly wasn't like that when they first spoke. Some sort of illusion then they were both magic-users from what he gathered of their own awkward conversation. But that was neither here nor there, really, and it was of little concern as far as Helios knew. He wasn't one to judge someone of outward appearance not back home and certainly not here.

Helios will reply with that same tentative and concerned tone of voice when he finally thinks and processes Loki's words. ] D-Do you mean that the thorns are getting closer? I-I haven't heard anything else about them...

No. what we face is the imminent collapse of the structure of time, and thus reality.

[ He's perfectly matter-of-fact. ]

Yeah? Who're you supposed to be?

[ It takes her a moment to place him, but - the lines of his face, his voice. ]

[ What, it ain't no thang, he's just shapeshifting. Like always. Totally normal. ]

[She hears his words and considers, notes his appearance, though doesn't judge. Never having met in reality, she can only go off the now.

Instead of speaking, she writes up a message and holds it up in front of the orb.]

What do you propose to do?

Destroy the one at the root of the danger. We are all at risk.

Loki. What is happening?

[sorcerous]

[ Oh. He'd forgotten that she can see this. That she sees him Jotunn, now, and there is a flush of shame that stains his skin lighter, for a fleeting moment.

He cannot involve her in murder. ]

The kingdom is at risk, Mother.

What do you need us to do?

[sorcerous]

It is dangerous, young one. Stay indoors tomorrow.

She comes directly to the address given, rather than respond to the orb.

She is cross with him. And given his image in the orb, she is worried for him. She is unsure if one cancels out the other and will be glad for the opportunity to ignore both, should the day call for it.

The Jotunn skin, in person, does startle her. Knowing is one thing, seeing another.

"What has happened?"

[sorcerous]

"Too many things." He has the urge to step to her, draw her into his arms as he had the night prior. But his skin... perhaps it will burn her. Certainly the air is cloying and hot, even when it should be cool and crisp. There is too much he does not know.

"We must kill her," he says. "The Hero of the Mountains."

Yeah, I'll get right on that, Laufeyson.

[She has every intention of showing up, but keeping to the shadows to ensure this isn't a trap and a means to eliminate the heroes.]

This is no time for games, woman!

[ At the very least: his value to one of the great powers of this world is at stake. He has spent a great deal of effort worming into her good graces, and it befits him to stay there. ]
