[Eliot fumbles with the orb, apparently not realizing that it's already recording.]

So, magic. Really? After living my whole life believing that magic, and fairy tales, and Peter Pan are just stories, I manage to come across the one real spell in my... Well, my world. Unless I'm really dreaming.

[He pinched himself. And winced.]

Nope. Not dreaming.

[He shakes his head and runs a hand through his hair.]

And if that weren't enough, I feel like I belong here. Which is just plain weird, man. I don't do this inexplicable stuff. It normally makes my skin crawl. And I don't normally like being abruptly taken from my team and wherever I'm currently calling home. But this time, it feels right. I mean, I miss my team. I wish they were here. But I'm not fighting to get home like I should be. And what's more, that doesn't bother me as much as it should.

[He sighs and looks around the room, his gaze resting lovingly on his new sword. He grins.]

Course, the sword might help with that. I haven't seen one this nice since Edinburgh.

Depends on who you ask. Not like every 'monster' is a monster here anyway.

Most of us are, I think. Did you at least get something interesting for coming here? I heard some people, human people, got magic after being brought here.

[He blinks.]

Magic?

[He shrugs.]

I don't know. I haven't exactly been here that long. Besides, what the hell would I do with magic? It's too flashy for my taste.

You can do a lot with magic. It's not always flashy, it can be really practical.

I'm sure it comes in handy. It's just... I can't imagine myself ever using it.

You might here. Things aren't exactly normal.

I gathered that this place isn't normal when I woke. It's like a much earlier, fairy tale version of where I grew up. Definitely not normal.

I'm still not convinced I'll ever actually use magic. It's too... strange to even think it's real.

[halfwitch]

This place is like a story. It's nice. A little strange, but nice.

And magic? It's real. Really real. I can use it.

It'll take a bit of getting used to. It seems full of surprises.

I'm here. It must be real. It's just... Imagine you'd never heard of water. And suddenly you're surrounded by it, supposed to swim in it. That's what this feels like.

I guess I can understand that. But it's not that bad. The people around here are okay-ish with helping people get used to stuff.
