"Gods, Helios, stop."

Giles buries his face in his hands, all the conflicting emotions feeling as though they're choking him to death all over again. Frustration, confusion, desperation and always, always love. It had taken many forms throughout all the time they'd known one another, but it had always been there.

"I'm, um, I'm the one who should be apologizing. It, i-it was, was my dream. I, I should have been, um, more in control of myself. I-I sh-should, should have considered how that, um, might have upset you. I'm sorry, and..."

It's with a supreme effort of will that he looks back up at Helios. The light briefly obscures the lenses of his glasses, but then the glare passes, and Helios will be able to see Giles looking back at him, evidently feeling as lost, alone, and self doubting as Helios himself is.

"...I hope this hasn't ruined anything between us, but...I'll, I'll understand, i-if it has."
