Giles looks embarrassed to have startled Helios so badly, even after having tried so hard to shake him gently out of his thoughts. "S-Sorry," he says immediately, staring down at his feet. "Sorry, I...I didn't mean to startle you."

He takes the invitation to sit, hoping that it might make Helios a bit less anxious. He's never seen the other shy away from him so much. Well, no...the last time he saw Helios shy away from him this much had been Halloween. Had he really shattered the other that badly?

...no, of course he had. It had been a dream, he hadn't been thinking straight. But, he still had. Stupid, stupid Giles.

But Giles sits, on the far end of the other bench, drawing his legs onto the bench with him so his needs are against his chest. He can't bring himself to look at the other man except brief, nervous glances.

"...last night. You, um...y-you remember?"

They're both good at deflecting, yes. But there comes a point where it has to stop.
