The party went on, with the beast's head on display. A proud, twisted thing. Behind false ruby eyes, it waited. And as the music became slower and the wine less plentiful, it waited still.

Those who had gazed upon it at the ball. Those who had seen it once living in the forest. All heroes who dared to look upon its face and dream still that they would be able to live another day...

There are all sorts of ways of living. In waking. In sleep. Perhaps, now, they would find one in between.

(ooc: Feel free to keep tagging into the party post! Once your characters go home and go to sleep of their own accord, that is when the dreaming will begin. Remember, it is up to you to set up what kind of world your character is trapped in and how best to help them. Plotting post is here, make use of it!

The beast's power will wane once the bulk of the dreamers have escaped his curse. If your character was not at the party but you still want to involve them in the dream plot, that is fine! They can either help get people out or have seen the beast wandering in the woods before it was killed and have caught its attention that way.

Ginia likes the stars. There are so many up in the sky, bright and sparkling and ruling the sky, and with snow gently falling, it's like the world is covered with stars. She climbs her way up to the rooftop with all the bravery a twelve-year-old can be blessed with, and dusts herself off once she's at the top.

She's smiling as she stars up at the sky, too enchanted by the stars to have noticed Loki.

Loki spots her, of course; he is so attuned to sound that he has been listening to the snow. A girl moving, breathing is nothing, in comparison.

"You're intruding," he announces, shifting to his feet. "I'll call the guards."

Ginia quickly turns to look at the young boy, her eyes wide. Even as she shifts nervously on her feet, she frowns, giving him a long, scrutinizing look. He's either someone very important to be able to call guards, or he's bluffing.

"I'm not doing anything wrong. I just wanted a better view of the stars," she says with bravado, still frowning at him. Vaguely, she realizes she shouldn't be able to speak because she's never been able to, but such are dreams. Unusual things become accepted.

"Do you know where this is?" How could she not? The palace is the highest in Asgard. "This is the dwelling of Odin All-Father."

"Do you think he'll mind if I'm up here then?" She's a stubborn one and not easily intimidated by a child like herself. "And why is it okay if you're up here and not me?"

"Because I'm the prince." He is stung; people never recognize him. They only recognize Thor. They always recognize Thor.

Ginia's eyes go wide and she gives a very quick curtsy.

"Sorry, your highness! I didn't mean to be rude!"

She peers over at him, her smile shy.

"I've never met a prince before."

Loki's mood turns quicker than fierce weather; he is flattered by the respect, by the thought that he is the first she has met, and he raises his chin. A proud little thing.

"Prince Loki, of Asgard," he tells her. "And what is your name?"

"Ginia Solana. Of Davenport," she replies, trying to remember what her stories said about how one should act in front of royalty. Was she supposed to look or keep her eyes adverted? She couldn't quite remember so she settled for something in between, head up, but not quite looking at him.

He frowns, at that. She does not avert her eyes like a maid or a servant pledging loyalty, but she does not look, either.

"Is there something interesting just over my shoulder?" he asks, resisting the urge to turn and glance himself.

"Oh, no!" Ginia's eyes quickly snap to meet his, her face flushing in embarrassment. "I-I wasn't sure what was proper. I-in being in front of prince. Should I be bowing?"
