The party went on, with the beast's head on display. A proud, twisted thing. Behind false ruby eyes, it waited. And as the music became slower and the wine less plentiful, it waited still.

Those who had gazed upon it at the ball. Those who had seen it once living in the forest. All heroes who dared to look upon its face and dream still that they would be able to live another day...

There are all sorts of ways of living. In waking. In sleep. Perhaps, now, they would find one in between.

(ooc: Feel free to keep tagging into the party post! Once your characters go home and go to sleep of their own accord, that is when the dreaming will begin. Remember, it is up to you to set up what kind of world your character is trapped in and how best to help them. Plotting post is here, make use of it!

The beast's power will wane once the bulk of the dreamers have escaped his curse. If your character was not at the party but you still want to involve them in the dream plot, that is fine! They can either help get people out or have seen the beast wandering in the woods before it was killed and have caught its attention that way.

"I found myself here with no idea how I managed to arrive. Not that this isn't a very nice place but I would like to know how I came to be here."

[tatra]

"Oh." This only seems to bother her for a moment. Then she picks up the tea pot and holds it over the empty cup.

"Will you join us, then?"

[for_that_i_run]

Eagle blinks, confused over just how easily that was dismissed but does give in and accept a cup of tea.

"You aren' t worried about that at all?"

[tatra]

"It's peaceful here." She gestures at the band, playing cheerfully without a care in the world.

"We would know if we were in any danger."

"And it's not as though we can't protect ourselves," Tarta adds proudly.

"It is peaceful."

And nothing here seemed dangerous. Maybe he was worrying too much. He just decided to sit back and enjoy the tea for now.

"And it must be nice to be able to have tea with your sister again?"

[tatra]

"Oh yes," Tatra agrees enthusiastically. Tarta doesn't seem to have noticed the comment, strangely.

"We've had so much to worry about lately. It's nice to have time to relax."

That was oddly silent. It was a bit strange to see the other Princess being so reserved. She was usually a lot more animated.

"Is this place on your ship or back on your own world?"

[tatra]

"Chizeta, of course! We've finally come home, however briefly." Tatra takes a sip of tea as Tarta seems to come back to life like a doll.

"No doubt we'll be needed back in Cephiro, but we've worked hard enough. Hikaru and the others can keep that place in one piece for a while or she wouldn't have passed the test."

"Yes," Tatra adds, "and they can get in touch if they need us. Hikaru herself told us to take the time off!"

"Hikaru... did...?"

What was that? Passing the test? Hikaru told them to take time off? For someone not so advanced in time these phrases were very confusing. It really reinforced that something was very wrong with all this.

[tatra]

"What, did you sleep through the meeting again?" Tarta asks jokingly, but only so truthfully. "The infrastructure's back in order. Everybody gets to take some time to themselves."

Tatra smiles.

"Even you, Commander."

[for_that_i_run]

That was wrong.

"Nothing like that has ever happened..."

At least not in the world he was from.

"I doubt an enemy would really be invited to a meeting like that."

[tatra]

The two looked at each other, then burst out laughing.

"Good one, Eagle. Now sit down and have a drink," Tarta insists. Tatra agrees.

"Still think I'da made a Pillar than you," Tarta adds slyly. "But I guess things worked out okay the way they did."

[for_that_i_run]

Eagle tried to smile and enjoy the tea they were offering but it was very difficult even for a guy like him. What they were saying was that he would fail at the one thing he wanted more than anything else.

If it were... no, it couldn't be. Nothing like that had happened yet. He would get back to Cephiro and become the Pillar.

"You have been very kind during all of this but... I am afraid none of this can be true. It has to be some kind of magic... or an illusion, something."

[tatra]

"Don't be such a sore loser," Tarta demanded. Tatra frowned.

"I thought you were happy for Hikaru, Eagle."

[for_that_i_run]

"I do wish for Hikaru to be happy but everything else you said," He smiled again this time a bit wistfully. "It just can't be true."

There was no way he would be around long enough to attend any meetings or whatever else they had hinted at. Not to mention the Pillar had not yet been decided in his time.

"It is a very interesting dream you are having."

[tatra]

Tatra looks uncharacteristically distraught for a moment. He's ruining her moment, her happiness with her sister, and she misses Tarta so much that it aches. Tarta stands up angrily, her chair falling over. Tatra forces a smile.

"Oh dear, Tarta, do be careful!"

Tarta is not amused.

"You were there. Hikaru was chosen, we were rejected. We agreed to help each other rebuild. If you take that back now, I won't forgive you!"

"I'm sorry. I seem to have upset both of you."

He really didn't want to do that. Upsetting people did always bother him but that wish of his was such a strong pull factor...
'Take it back?'
How could he take back something he had never given into in the first place?

[tatra]

"No, please," Tatra insisted, distressed that her sister had offended their friend.

"Tarta, please sit down. There's no reason to cause such a fuss."

[for_that_i_run]

He had certainly not taken any offense, he just simply didn't believe any of it. This was only a dream she was having after all.

"I probably shouldn't have mentioned it at all."

[tatra]

"Don't worry about it. Please, just enjoy your tea."

Tarta saw that she had upset her sister, and decided to keep quiet. But she obviously wasn't happy about it.
