The party went on, with the beast's head on display. A proud, twisted thing. Behind false ruby eyes, it waited. And as the music became slower and the wine less plentiful, it waited still.

Those who had gazed upon it at the ball. Those who had seen it once living in the forest. All heroes who dared to look upon its face and dream still that they would be able to live another day...

There are all sorts of ways of living. In waking. In sleep. Perhaps, now, they would find one in between.

(ooc: Feel free to keep tagging into the party post! Once your characters go home and go to sleep of their own accord, that is when the dreaming will begin. Remember, it is up to you to set up what kind of world your character is trapped in and how best to help them. Plotting post is here, make use of it!

The beast's power will wane once the bulk of the dreamers have escaped his curse. If your character was not at the party but you still want to involve them in the dream plot, that is fine! They can either help get people out or have seen the beast wandering in the woods before it was killed and have caught its attention that way.

Eagle accepted the explanation with a nod before indicating the rest of the building with a wave of his hand.

"And the rest of this place? I don't remember any place like this on that world we were taken to."

[shiromadoushi]

"What, Hell Towers?" Bakura laughed. "This is your first time coming over, isn't it? Aaa, sorry, sorry, I had forgotten!"

"They really call it..." Eagle chuckled. "But, you seem so fond of it. Why would it be named after a place like that?"

[shiromadoushi]

"Hiruma-kun renamed it. Every thing he names is like that, devil this or hell that. Unless it's swearing," Bakura smiled.

[for_that_i_run]

"But just where is this place? If you look out of the windows you can't see the castle at all."

It had to be near that village right? It was the biggest village around.

[shiromadoushi]

"Castle?" Bakura blinked. "There's no castle in Brooklyn...."

[for_that_i_run]

"Brooklyn?"

Now they can confuse each other with place names they each have not heard before.

"You really don't remember the castle?"

[shiromadoushi]

"Only Pegasus's... and I don't think you mean that one..."

[for_that_i_run]

"The horse?"

Yeah... they were not speaking the same language anymore.

"Any way, this does seem like a nice enough place."

Ignoring the swearing.

"Is this your home?"

[shiromadoushi]

"Aaa- no, no, Pegasus the person, the one who created Duel Monsters!" Bakura corrected with a laugh. "And un, this is!"

And he does ignore the swearing. It's just like the traffic down below~

Duel Monsters... ok, Eagle decides to set that aside for now.

"How did you get back here?"

[shiromadoushi]

"Back?" Bakura blinked, clueless.

[for_that_i_run]

"You were in that other world with me and the other 'heroes'."

Eagle looses the term loosely.

"How did you get back here?"

[shiromadoushi]

"Mou, this is that place," Bakura laughed with a smile. "Did you hit your head or something? Or did the Porter do something strange again to mess with everyone's minds?"

[for_that_i_run]

"Why would the Porter do anything like that?"

There was one way to solve this, walk over to a window and look outside.

"There is no way this is in Schwanheim and there are no cities I know of there that are this advanced."

[shiromadoushi]

"Schwanheim...?" Bakura repeated the name, blinking. "What sort of place is that...?" There was a touch of something almost like apprehension with the question.

[for_that_i_run]

"A magical world with a well meaning King that is in danger from an enemy called the thorns."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura stilled, blinking again. "That sounds like something out of a storybook..."

[for_that_i_run]

"It is actually... Many people have mentioned opening a book and being pulled in."

He didn't remember that but some others did.

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura feel quiet, the background feeling of unease starting to grow. "I-- I should go check on-- I should go," he stammered, turning to duck into his apartment.

[for_that_i_run]

Eagle doesn't make a move to stop Bakura from leaving. He could sympathize with his feelings after all. Leaving a nice place like this where he obviously had fond memories wasn't easy.

"It is a very pleasant dream... I can see why you wouldn't want to leave."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura hesitated in the doorway. "I promised I wouldn't leave..." he said softly. "I promised Oniichan that I wouldn't..."

"Some times promises like that..." He thought briefly on his own situation, "are impossible to keep."
