What: Hawk wants to know what Aralu's been up to. Since it's always something.

"You've been quiet lately," Hawk commented idly before taking a swig from his mug as he leaned against the door frame.

Aralu leaned back, stretching. "Trying to find a book that isn't completely useless from that library is time consuming. It's almost as big as dad's. Until I check everything I can't be completely sure there's nothing."

She smirked a little, getting up to step close. "Why? Miss me?" she asked in a teasing tone.

"You'd have to leave for that," came the dry reply. "And you being quiet is you getting up to something."

"Of course I'm up to something," she answered petulantly. "I'm trying to figure out what's going on so we can do whatever needs doing and go home. Faolan may be content here, but I'm not ten and hyper. The shadows here aren't sentient, and wouldn't do my bidding if they were, so I have to do all the legwork myself."

She crossed her arms at him. "And I haven't found anything worthwhile in the castle library yet, nor anyone who can actually answer questions. Next, I might have to actually go down to where these 'thorns' are to examine them. Away from prying eyes, of course."

"So get new minions," Hawk shrugged.

"You really think those thorns are our ticket out, huh?"

"It's the reason we were told we were here, so it's as good a starting point as any. No good to just disbelieve everything from the start." She ran a hand through her hair and started pacing. "And good minions are hard to find, especially with the natives here. I have your puppy bringing me information, and he's not bad at it, and I made a deal with the little witch girl he's friends with, but...." She made a frustrated noise and leaned on him. "I miss the Shadow's and dad's library."

"Sucks to rebuild your empire from the ground up, eh?" Hawk took another drink from his mug. "Might need to think of new ways."
