[ The orb rises and follows as Loki leaps from one tree to another, lighting on a strong branch and bracing himself with a palm against the bark.

There's quite a din of whinnying and hoofbeats in the background.

His voice is utterly calm: ]

Gretel -- sorceress. It seems my day is somewhat preoccupied. I won't be able to meet with you after all.

[ A smash of splintering wood; Loki flinches. More of a twitch, really.

He raises his eyes heavenward, in exasperation, and reaches out for the orb.

It avoids his fingers. ]

Oh, in the name of --

[ Visible, now, is a horse just a few feet below him, a brown one, enraged. Possibly familiar to some as the horse that rampaged through town earlier. And she has a little, ridiculous hat braced between her ears. ]

I, um...I didn't actually get the impression that she enjoyed being a horse.

[Several replies flash through Giles' mind, at that. He discards all of them after a second's though with the simple reason that Loki almost certainly won't care.] Du Hurensohn. Is there any particular reason why you want her to be a horse?

I didn't. But as long as the curse has taken her, I would teach her not to fear it.

Transformation is not terror. Or, at least, it doesn't have to be.

She didn't s-seem frightened. She, she really only seemed impossibly annoyed, and there's, th-there's really no way to find fault with her for that.

[...perhaps in vain, Giles gives his take on logic another stab.]

The curse is going to have hold of her for as long as she has that ridiculous hat on.

[ In the tone of: I'm not stupid. ]

[You know what, Loki?

You're the one getting hung up on, this time. Yeah. That's right. How do you like that?

With that, Giles is off to find a horse. If he can't get the blood hat off again, maybe he can find some hapless bystander and tell them what to do.]

((ooc: Of course, if Loki wants to actively screw with Giles' attempts, I am more than fine with that. Or Giles can just not find Sif. Either way!))

[Giles will hear a punctuated neigh in the background, which is the best Sif can do to agree vehemently.

You have scored major points with her today, Giles. If you were a farmer or a soldier, that would yield well for your crops and bloodshed. Since you are a ghost, less helpful.]

[Hey, bloodshed is something that Giles always needs good fortune with, if only to make sure that a minimum of that blood shed is his. He might be a ghost, but knowing Giles he'll still find a way to get mauled.]

Knock the bloody thing off against a tree! Just sh-shaking it off worked last time, didn't it?
