Monestary Raid
Characters: Eagle Vision
Open? Yes’m!
Where: Monastery or the countryside around the Monastery if you want to run into Eagle leaving the scene
When: 17th of Rebirth's Height // Evening
What: Eagle has decided to liberate a few books from the heavily Monk guarded Monastery.
Warnings: There will be just a small fire.
[ The monks ran from their monastery grabbing any free bucket or pail they could find as they hurried to the nearest well. The fire that raged in the courtyard was contained to a single hay-filled cart but it still needed to be put out very quickly. The chance of it spreading was low but it was still a chance the diligent monks did not want to take. They swiftly formed a bucket brigade with one monk filling the buckets full of water and passing them down the line to the monks closet to the fire in order to douse the flames.
Just as planned, this little distraction had left the monastery itself unguarded.
Eagle had been by earlier just to see if he couldn’t get a look at some of the many books he had heard they kept here. At that time he was given some kind of nonsense answer about knowledge being too dangerous and only for the privileged few. Not the exact phrasing but to Eagle that is what it sounded like. It was an idea he rejected entirely.
That was why he had staged this distraction. While the monks had been busy outside putting out the minor fire he had been inside borrowing a few books he had seen some one intensely studying earlier. They were written in a strange script he didn’t understand but at least it was a step closer to learning more about this world. He had no doubt that in time he would be able to read these books.
From the safety of the nearby bushes Eagle watched the rest of the scene in the courtyard of the monastery play out just to make certain they would be able to contain the fire. Then he stored his stolen books in a satchel and turned to leave the scene. ]

While it was true the book might also be unreliable that only way to find that out would be to read it.
"Anyway, it should be fun trying to figure out how to read it."

"I will find some one who knows how to read this, or a language book on this kind of writing, or find a magic spell that will make it all make sense... I don't know which yet."

Learning to read it for himself would be the best option also one of the more difficult ones really. Luckily Eagle did enjoy a challenge.
"What about you? We have talked about my plans for some time now, I am curious what you intend to do here. Do you have any plans?"

Such cute answer really.
"Are there very many village children that you can play with?"

This makes him a little sad, but it's hard to make new friends with small children in the first place. He'd much rather play with Hawk and Loki.

Eagle always found differences interesting. This is a bit of a strange concept for the outgoing guy.
"What makes it so difficult?"

Children did have a tendency to run, shout and laugh a lot, but Eagle had never really found that annoying.
"Couldn't you just talk a lot too?"

Maybe the... well, he certainly didn't seem shy with all of the questions he had asked earlier.

"Can't," he said finally, and that seemed to sum up the situation quite nicely.

"Know words slowly," he said finally. "You one person, Faolan one person. Can have a conversation and wait. Kids don't wait."

Eagle smiled, "Then maybe all I would need to do is talk to them, explain the situation, and they would slow down for you."
You can tell he hasn't had much experience with children but at least he was trying to improve the situation.

"And fast," he conceded after a moment.

"That is very nice of you. I'm sure you will end up making a lot of friends if you just talk to them one on one like this."

"Of course. All you need to do is be yourself and be friendly."
