Characters: The Magic Peddler

Where: Everywhere~
When: All day the 16th of Rebirth's Height.
What: The Magic Peddler is out selling his wares. What plot significant magical and cursed little do dad will your character acquire?

He's a slightly wizened old man; the large pack on his back has bent him over the years and his long grey beard looks to have not seen much of a comb in years. Yet he is clean, his brown tunic studded with light green tile that look like faded lily pads drifting in a muddied swamp, washed out from sun and wash. The charms hanging from the gold bands adorning his arms glitter, polished white and smooth as they clink together with every step.

There's something about him that draws the curiosity. The hopeful, the unguarded, the ambitious, those who have much to gain, those who have little to lose. He has something for them all, hidden treasures none have ever unearthed before. What is waiting for you, inside his pack?

"Then maybe you can find a use for these..." He reached into his bag to pull out something wrapped carefully in silk. "I know these hold magic, but alas, I am not the sort of man who can use magic at all, a blessing when hunting treasures, but a bit of a curse once one has them all," he smiled as he unwrapped the item, reveling a gold pair of scissors with carefully inlaid gems.

She eyed the scissors curiously, not entirely sure what use she could find for them.

"Do you know what they do?"

"Alas, I do not. It will take a wiser head than mine to figure their powers."

[[OoC: They can cut anything except the thorns. Don't even have to be near the thing you want to cut for them to work! Just mind the concentration when you do that since any stray thought can wind up being cut instead.]]

She smiled sweetly. A poor wanderer could no doubt use the money she was finding so little use for. And perhaps she would find a use for them after all.

"I would love them, if you are willing to sell them to me."

[ooc| That sounds dangerous. ]

"Of course, my dear lady. 'Twould be quite cruel of me to offer them for your eyes, and not allow them to be had," the man bowed his head slightly.

"How much would you ask for them?" she inquired, pulling out her purse. She tried not to carry too much money with her all at once, but it was still more than enough for anything she might need.

"Whatever my kind lady would see fit I will gladly accept. I do not seek any great wealth, only great adventure."

"Well then." She transferred a more than adequate sum to his hand and gave him another smile.

"If you would like to join me for a cup of tea, I plan to be in town all day."

"Alas, my dear lady, while I would love nothing more than to spend more time in your fine company, I am a wanderer, and I fear if I stopped to sit, I may not be able to get back up once more, and there is still much of the world to be explore."

She nodded her understanding and smiled again.

"Then I am glad to have met you while I had the chance."
