Day 8; Orb 1; Intro

[Sif sits in a throne that does not feel like her own, but that others have insisted she take. Nonetheless, she does look regal – she has never had a problem taking command when a mission lies so plainly in front of her. This kingdom needs help. When her quest has been fulfilled, she can go home. That is the way of such things.]

Greetings. I am [and she pauses a moment, the words still uncomfortable] Prince Sif. That is what I have been asked to call myself. Like most of you, the title was thrust upon me and I have no need of it in the long term. But here, I represent my home of Asgard. It would not do for a representative of the Æsir to leave a kingdom unaided that asks for help. I am sure that the same holds true for those of you that choose to represent your own realms.

And so, I would seek this kingdom’s best and brightest to join me in an excursion to the Two Faced Forrest, to investigate these thorns. There is a sizeable reward available to anyone who can help us provide further information about them.

On a mission for the crown, yes. It would not do to have a child with us.

[Oh, this creates so much pouting.] Hawk would let Faolan go. Faolan likes forests.

[ The words spill without his volition. He is shocked, aghast -- Prince, such insult, that she was Prince and Loki was not. ]

[In the past few hours, Sif has been pulled from her home, transported to an unknown realm, and been given a mission and a title.

And yet, this is the most unnerving thing she has ever seen. The dead prince, the lost prince. Alive and furious. Her expression, which she has always been poor at concealing, is the definition of shock.]

Loki?

[sorcerous]

You may not. This quest is not yours to take. This realm is not yours to rule!

*Oh, Bay loves this idea entirely, you can tell by her sarcasm and deadpan staring.* ...While wandering into the dark creepy forest is generally a bad plan.

My title doesn't actually give me any money. And, oh yeah, the townsfolk have labeled me a criminal for it too.

So I don't really have better options. *Bay loves this place, clearly.*

[Sif cares little for the girl's complaints -- if she is out of sorts here, where no immeadiate dangers exists, she may not be wholly useful in the field.]

What skills do you have, to lend to the expedition?

The nicest name I've been given is 'Rogue,' and from what little I know about what I can do here I'm nimble, and very aware of my surroundings.

I also am a very talented artist... but you obviously don't care about that.

[Sif seems slightly impressed -- she's the first one to address the threat itself. What sort of champions is the world pulling in, that are so set on reward alone?]

I applaud the desire, but it was smart of you not go alone. You would be a welcome addition, Ms. Sonohara.

And honestly, just call me Sif.

It might be a good idea to ask the towns people, if that's the forest just outside the walls. I've only heard a little, mostly just warnings to stay away from it.

I've been told that the forest becomes overgrown at night, though that is the extent of my knowledge. For a kingdom in peril, information here is strangely…lacking. [What is the most diplomatic way of saying that the guy in charge is an idiot?]

The man in charge is an idiot.

Salutations.... [A pause] prince. [Brietta was a wizard here but she had no intention to use the title] I can't say I hold the same enthusiasm you do. A kingdom in peril it might be.. but they did kidnap all of us..... how can we be sure they are the good guys?

[And.. wasn't Asgard from Norse mythology.... oo boy .. this place was getting stranger]

I don't assume that they are the good guys. But they are clearly in need of assistance, and we are held here until we give it. I see no reason not to complete the task.

I am a bit curious about these thorns I keep hearing about but I'm afraid I might be more ofa hindrance than an asset. [Rani had no wings to fly.. so walking the whole way would take her forever! She hadn't yet realized she still could summon a bird to fly on here..]
